This is a beautiful old luxurious hotel with a famous restaurant called Il Dito E La Luna. This was the place where I celebrated my birthday this year.
Behind the hotel, at the end of via Teatro Greco stands the Graeco-Roman Theatre, as it is known, the monument that has created the *myth* of Taormina with its location in a position that naturally dominates the surrounding countryside.
This is the second of Sisily's classical theatres in term of size. From the cavea, set in a hollow in Monte Tauro, is the famous view (no picture as you have to see it yourself!).
