Clock Tower
by Kushelkitten
Along Corso Umberto you at the edge of the Piaza Duomo you will come to a clock tower. I find the tower itself pretty enough but I was completely surprised as I passed through it and came across the "Theotakos" ( to find out what the Theotakos is check out my other tip).
Two days in Taormina
by ZenLady34
I spent two days in Taormina between coming from Panarea island and going to Catania Airport. I knew nothing about the town before I entered there.
The town was full of tourists and shops for tourists. But I do admit that I liked it a lot despite the tourism fact.
This is the most beautiful Church I've ever been in! Look at the flowers, look at the light in there. I wish I could pass on the smell from the flowers for you...
This town has a walking street, which is bounded by lovely shops. This church is at the "gate" to the old town... is it the old town?
Taormina is easily reached by bus or train. If you take train you need to take a bus from the train station bus-stop to Taormina. The train stops at Giardini-Naxos (not sure about the spelling).
Also from Taormina you can take a cablecar down to the shore, Taormina Mare.
It really is a pitoresque town and there is a bus from Taormina to Catania airport and it only costs 5 euros! Easy!
