Hotel Condor, Taormina

Hotel Condor is a small and charming **-Hotel.

The rooms are nice, not big, not small comfortable and clean.

Unique Quality: The Rooms are equipped with TV, phone and most of them Air Condition.
The boss speaks italian, german, english and french. And is very friendly and will help you with tips for your stay.
The best is the terrace where breakfast is served when the weather is fine, from there you get a superb view over the sea.

More about Hotel Condor

Over rated!

by TripAdvisor Member Busot

Having stayed in Taormina last year, we were extremely disappointed with this hotel. we had a room located to the side of the reception on the ground floor, facing the steps to the entrance, so no privacy in the bathroom! The room was extremely basic, and did nothing to enhance a visit to such a beautiful town. The views from the terrace where breakfast is taken are good, and there are rooms above there with their own terraces, so we probably got the "duff" one!. Extremely small and basic...would not go back again!!

Pay a little more

This was a nice somewhat cramped little hotel within walking distance from the bus station(taxi will charge you ten bucks-a huge ripoff for a six block ride.We were disappointed with our room that was down several floors of steep narrow stairs and looked out onto a narrow alley and a huge tarred roof. This was probably our own fault since the booking site listed a standard room for 100 bucks and a "superior" room for another fifteen.
The rooms above us all had balconys and excellent views and some were unoccupied. Upon our request for a room change we were showen a worse room.So we suggest avoiding the "standard" rooms entirely.

Great accommodation option

We stayed here for 2 nights in May. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from the bus station (uphill) and only a couple of minutes from the centre of town. You can take a bus from the train station to the bus terminal (10 minutes ride for about 50 cents). We had a ‘superior room’ (room 53 I think) which had a balcony and nice views over the coast. The room was spacious, quiet and clean and our bathroom was newly renovated. Breakfast on the terrace was good. We ate in a nearby restaurant ‘Tiramisu’ which we can highly recommend.
We would stay in Hotel Condor again.

Why pay more?

The Hotel Condor is a seven-minute walk from the Porta Messina and the jam-packed Corso, yet it feels quiet and secluded. It's not posh, so those guests who want amenities and extras should look elsewhere. Yet, for upscale Taormina we thought it was a great choice. For 2-star prices we had comfortable beds, a very clean bathroom and a little terrace. The flower-bedecked roof where the breakfast is served (and where you can relax in the evening) has an incredible, sweeping view. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. We were very happy we stayed here.

Loved this Place!

We enjoyed every moment at Hotel Condor - very clean and helpful staff who spoke English. Very appreciative of the parking for 10e per day. The view from the terrace is wonderful and peaceful, we had breakfast and evening cocktails on this beautiful Terrace!

Friendly Condor

Just back from a two week holiday in Sicily. We spent three nights in the Condor and i would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very friendly helpful and polite staff clean rooms
and a large shower area. As has been mentioned in previous reviews i would recommend
the double superior option which for a little bit more of your euro you get a lovely seaview
and small balcony area. If you arrive by car they have parking facilities just a short walk
from the hotel but you need to be aware that you will pay 10 euros per night which i understand for Taormina is quite a reasonable deal. Breakfast at this hotel is a pleasure taken on a small balcony with a lovely panoramic view it is also just a short walk into town
but far enough away not to be disturbed by any street noise. So thankyou Condor for making it avery pleasant stay in what is a lovely holiday destination.

Good location, good service, good rates.

Very friendly hotel in a good location and great view. Great staff and very convenient parking lot. What the hotel lacks in caracter is well compansated by all its other assets.

Great little hotel

by TripAdvisor Member 23Becks

Great little hotel away from hustle and bustle of the centre of Taormina but only a few minutes walk from it all.

- staff very friendly and helpful
- the superior room we had, had a small balcony with a great coastal views.
- breakfast served out on the terrace with great views of Taormina and the coast.
- 92 euros a night so great value, especially when compared with the general high hotel prices of Taormina.

Small, but does the job

by TripAdvisor Member The_Margoli

The hotel condor is a little out of the way of the main centre of Taormina. However due to the excessive crowds this is not a bad thing. The views of the sea and the sunrises are beautiful and breakfast is basic but good.

Main complaint is the size of the room, very small and cramped with a weird sliding door to the bathroom. The bathroom décor is also quite old fashioned, but the main room is light and bright.

I didn’t like Taormina as a place. It was very crowded and touristy, meaning that the charm and character that had drawn people there in the first place is now lost. I would recommend you only stay there one night, in order to see the Greek theatre, and so for that this hotel would fit the bill quite nicely.
