This hotel has a very convenient location. It's on Via Roma, which means that a taxi can drive up to the door (not possible with hotels on Corso Umberto, such as the Isabella), and right next to the Public Gardens, but just a short walk up to the Corso, past several nice restaurants. My general advice for hotels in Taormina would be to avoid any that are half-way down the hill (great views, but more difficult for getting around).
Our room was pleasant, with adequate space. Amenities included a balcony, air-con, TV, mini bar and hairdryer. And free wifi, with a reliable connection. The bathroom had shower only, no tub, but it was an extremely good shower.
It was a little noisy one night, when it sounded like some boy racers were trying to recreate the TT on the streets of Taormina, but otherwise noise was not a problem.
Downstairs there is a lounge area with a computer with internet access.
Unique Quality: The best thing about this hotel is the rooftop restaurant, where breakfast is served, which has stunning views of Etna, Taormina and the bay of Giardini Naxos.
The breakfast buffet itself is pretty good, with cold meats and cheeses, yoghurt, fruit juice, fresh fruit, cereal and some very nice patisserie. Tea/coffee is served at the table (coffee can either come in a standard pot, or they will make an espresso or cappuccino etc. to order).
The restaurant is also open for dinner (a 4 course set meal for 29 euro a head) but we didn't try this.
Directions: Next to Giardino Pubblico
With all the winding roads in taormina , first time in Sicily , for us, it was very hard to find this hotel. But once I saw the view from my room I was amazed... got so exited that I could not sleep first night! The Etna, Naxos beach, many miles of the shore line... I did not expect Sicily is that beautiful!
The service was very friendly and very good. The room was clean. The bathroom had a window (which is always nice). It also had a tub, bide, plenty of towels.
Unique Quality: Taormina has parking problems. The hotel however gave us free parking spot right in front of the entrance.
Does anyone know anything about Hotel Villa Paradiso? Does it have parking? What about parking in Taormina? How much and where?
The hotel states that parking is available 100m from the hotel, from 14 euro per day:
Not cheap though. :-(
2 nights only. I though we could look some place else. I heard there are parking lots for 10 euro. We are planning to walk around the city, so we probably won't need a car during the day.
Bearable for 2 nights, I agree, especially as it is so close to the hotel.
Have you seen this page about parking?
