I am visiting Taormina in September and would like to ask 2 or 3 questions about Hotels in this area.
Since I will be travelling with my m/bike , coming overland from Malta, I would like to know :-
-> whether it is possible to drive with any vehicle inside the city ?
-> any hotels which have a private car park (preferebly lockable) ?

Taormina is only a small town, the Corso is pedestrianized but otherwise you can drive around it. I don't know about lockable but there are plenty of hotels and pensions with their own garages, see http://www.pensionesvizzera.com/english/. Be careful, though, some of them charge up to 12 euros a day/night for parking spaces, at least for cars!
thanks, i contacted the hotel and they offereed a space in a car park. am not sure whether it is safe to leave a m/bike unattended in the street in sicily.You know how it is there?

If you are able to climb the steep road from the train station by the sea to the village on top of the hill, you will be rewarded an unforgettable heavenly view with one side Mt. Etna above the coast line and the other side this fabulous island amid the dreamy golden sea.
Palazzo Corvaja was the seat of the first Sicilian parliament in 1411. The tower has a Arab-Norman structure - the gothic mullioned windows of the 14th century are particularly interesting.
The lowe rpart of the Palazzo was extended at the end of the 13th century. In this new wing, a staircase was built leading from the courtyard to the first floor. And on the landing there are three beautiful panels in Siracusa stone sculpted in high-relief: the first one pictures the creation of Eve; the second panel, the original sin; and the third is of the expulsion of Adam and Eve from Paradise.

Taormina is a very touristy little village in Sicily but even with all the tourists it hasn't lost its charme. It's the perfect combination of a typical sicilian village and a place offering tourists everything they need: Accomodation, Restaurants, Bars and services like car rentals.
It's got to be a tradition for me and a friend of mine to go there over easter to enjoy the sun and the great food there.
