We intend to travel by car from Taormina to Sorrento/Amalfi Coast. How long might we need for such a trip - is two days enough, including the ferry from Sicily? Many thanks to anyone who can help.
Check the trip on www.viamichelin.com... Usualy times are quite accurate. Anyway, 2 days will allow a lot of stops along the way.
You can easily do in 1, if needed.

Yes you can relax and enjoy your trip during 2 days.
Actually I have done the same trip 3 years ago and would suggest you travel along the east Calabrian coast as this is a very scenic path with the national park along the mountains.
Go up to Catanzaro before you cross north-west.

Just wonder thru the mase of small narrow streets. Apart from the main artery of the town that cuts it into two half, all other streets, especially in the lower part, are just splendid! One may discover so many hidden corners with beautiful views, balconies and flower beds.
A musst for every visitor in Taormina is to stroll along the Corso Umberto, the main street in Taormina. It is nearly 1 km long and there are loads of café's and shops. In the evenings it seems like everybody goes to have a walk along the "Corso"
The dramatic town of Taormina is perched precariously on a hilltop, offering superb views of the Mediterranean Sea and the imposing Mount Etna.
The town is located on Sicily's North-East coast, to the North of Catania.
Apart from the town's charming streets and spectacular panoramic views, the main tourist attraction is the spectacular Greek theatre.
Good beaches are located close by in the tourist resort of Giardini Naxos.
