WITHOUT WATER!!!

ABITA APARTAMENTS: old rooms. WITHOUT WATER (only the first day we had water)!!! ... after the whole day on the beach we came back to the apartment and find that we cannot have a shower, that the toilette was dirty and smell, that the reception doesn't matter about the problem, and that Mr. Abita, the owner, is unable to say "sorry"!!!

More about Abita Appartamenti

Cheap 1 bedroom apartment with good breakfast

by freemattia about Casa del Marinaio

My boyfriend and I booked the Casa del Marinaio, that is part of Abita Appartamenti but in fact it's a 1 bedroom apartment totally indipendent from Abita Appartamenti just 5 minutes walking from it. The street where it is located it's not very nice and at first could even seems dangerous, but after one week spent there we realized it was just a first impression due to the decadence of the street. It looks like a street with work in progress, but there isn't any work in progress...it's dusty, dirty with very poor light at night. We didn't mind all the cats around.
Our apartment was on the ground floor with a window on the street wich was not making us feeling very safe also because you cannot see the window if you are in the room or in the bathroom, so we preferred to be more careful just in case...and keep it closed when we were not in the kitchen.
The apartment itself is ok. Nothing special, but you have a kitchen with everything for cook and eat (dishes, glasses, saucepans etc...) a cooker with hoven, (no microwave), the fridge, the table with 4 chairs, a sofa.
The bedroom was in between the living room and the bathroom, so no windows and no natural light but we didn't care because we were using it just for sleep.
The room was spacious with a comfortable double bed, the television and lots of space for clothes and luggages.
The bathroom was small but cosy, however not very clean when we arrived and has never been cleaned in a week. We don't know if the cleaning was included, but the only think we noticed was that they were changing the towels everyday and empty the rubbish bins, but no cleaning at all in the whole apartment. By the way, we found in the apartment everything to clean by ourselves.
The second day the door of the apartment broke and we could not close it from outside, they asked us if we wanted to move for the night in another room and the day after they would send someone to repair it. As it was at night and we could close the door from the inside we just slept there without moving and the day after while we were having the breakfast they repaired the door.
The breakfast was included and served at the court of Abita Appartamenti, a very nice place. Tea, good espresso coffe and cappuccinos, croissants with cream or marmelade, nutella, fresh bread, spread cheese and salmon fruits and fresh made cakes!!! And most important of all, the breakfast is available till late in the morning.
They say that the kitchen is open for those who wants to have a coffe or tea at everytime but this is not true, or at least you cannot go there when you want because the door is kept closed so you have to ask at the reception to open it for you and sometimes I was feeling uncomfortable doing this so finally we didn't ask for coffe anymore in the afternoon.
All employes are very nice and gentle.
Finally...I would recommend the Casa del Marinaio to people that do not pretend too much, and especially young people as the place is an independent house and you really feel like at home...you have your keys and you go and come back without passing at reception. Maybe not adequate for families with children or for honeymooners. We would probably go back again to Casa del Marinaio because it's a cheap and good option close to the center and the beach, with a great breakfast and nice people.
Free internet at the reception (1 pc) and free bikes rental!!! Excellent breakfast, free bike rentals, good location close to the center and the beach, food shops around.
Good restaurants nearby.
