La Canonica: A B&B in the true heart of Tuscany!!

We actually found this agriturismo/B&B quite by accident while driving south from Siena into central Tuscany.

We're pretty savvy travelers and we know something good when we find it. This is something good! Not only is it very centrally located for easy access to Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, and Siena, but it's situated atop a hill in an utterly splendid area of Tuscany.

They also sell their own wine, honey, olive oil, etc.

We ended up staying three nights in their "Il Cipresso" apartment (the cheapest at 80 euros). When we return to Italy someday I'm sure we'll be reserving for at least a week. You just can't beat this kind of combination of location, comfort, and sheer beauty.

Unique Quality: The apartments (converted from a very old nunnery) are very comfortable and, most importantly, are DEAD quiet. There's a small kitchenette for preparing meals (if you don't want to have the B&B's breakfast or go out), a patio in a beautiful courtyard, and a very well maintained swimming pool (believe us, you'll want this in summer).
