Il Colombaio: the most lovely place to stay in Tuscany...

This place is a true gem... you'll definitely need to rent a car to stay here though... it's pleasantly in the middle of nowhere- close to a wee town called Torri, and not too far from Siena. The house is arty and unique, the rooms are large, rustic and richly hued with orginal works of art by the owner, the breakfast (not necessarily Italy's strong suit) is satisfying, the table outside beneath the trellis at night with newfound friends, tons of wine and cheese is pure magic-
