We stayed at the Hotel Alpi.
We stayed at the Hotel Alpi.
About £50 per night for double room including breakfast. Parking about £5 a day extra.
Unique Quality: It is a 4 star hotel. There are probably more luxurious hotels but it was fine and we were quoted a good discount for a stay of 8 nights. It’s in a fairly central location, less than 5 minutes walk to Piazza Walther.

Best Western Hotel Alpi
If you come to Italy to stay in an American Hotel, ok that is your choice. This hotel is situated right across the street from the never-ending construction site of the new Bolzano Chamber of Commerce.

Unique Quality: I loved to stay in this hotel, because there are nice people working. But as well the sauna and fitness area is really okay for a comparative low price...

Not the best, not the worst
I used to reserve a room at Hotel Alpi; it is a BestWestern one not so expensive with completely refurbished rooms (but with ugly windows !) and a not so up-to-date hall.
Unique Quality: A good restaurant inside !!! ... I have to review this rate cause during the last visit (october 2001) the food was not so impressive ... let's say that if u do not have any other choice u can eat here without feeling sick :-)

Good deal for the price
I was supposed to stay at the Park Lauren and circumstances landed me at the BW Alpi. Later, when I compared notes with my friend, I started thinking I may have gotten the better deal. Okay, there's no glamor here - things are a bit sparse, the decor isn't great, and the health center is in an different hotel ... but use of it is free.
If you don't like smoke, avoid the smoking floors with as much distance as possible - I couldn't believe how strong the odor was.
Here are the 2 things that would lure me back: The breakfast buffet is lovely. Delicious coffe, hot croissant, a selection of fruit, meat and cheese, cereal, a couple juices ... I was put in a good mood every morning. And, perhaps most important, every member of the staff was smiling, friendly and welcoming. I wanted pictures of the desk personnel because they had made such a positive impact on my stay. How often do you say that about a hotel?
Unique Quality: The friendly nature of the staff is definitely unique. Having their health center in a hotel that's on the other side of the Waltherplatz is another.
