Unique Buildings in Bolzano
by meteorologist1
The buildings and houses in Bolzano look very unique in that they don't really look Italian. They look more like Austrian or German style buildings. The colors, the windows, balconies make these buildings in Bolzano very unique. And therefore, it makes the city of Bolzano a unique Italian city also.
The Bell -Tower of the Cathedral

See the very impressive and attractive bell-tower disagned in a pure Gothic style. I would like to see the very same scene under the bright sunny day. Hope to have sunny day next time I'll visit Bolzano.
The Christmas market.
by Maurizioago
For almost the entire month of december a Cristmas market is held in piazza Walther; the main square of Bolzano.
There you can buy some Christmas crafts, typical food products and various other things. You can also have a glass (or more) of mulled wine; some other drinks and eat something.
At the Chrismas market you can also enjoy some concerts, puppets theatre and other venues.

I use a map of any area as a mian source of information, I can usaully orient myself to the places to visit and know how to get there. besdes when you do not know the language it is often difficult to make youreself undeerstood or to understand what the local people have to say.
I searched for the cable car station some time before I spotted it on the east side of the road and close to the Rail tracks as they headed north to the Brenner pass.
I took the cable car to the heights on the north side above Bozen and found another world, one far removed form the busy life in the city below. I walked around and took some photos of the mountains on all sides.
To the N.E were the mountains near Val Gardena, to the S.E there was a valley leading to Val di Fassa and way to the south and west the higher ground that sheltered Bozen from the west winds. .
Blue sky above Bozen.

Hopefully the clear sky was a sign that a few days spent in the mountains could be accomplished with some success.
The Hotel Adria is located across from the bus station so I should be able to get the correct pass that would get me to the next valley.
I would say farewell to the mountains surrounding Bozen and reach a valley that would be even more enclosed by higher ground.
