munich to selva di val garden
by tayhotel
Hi
I'm planning to travel to Selva from Munich with my family. Which will be the best route? Our land tour ends in Munich airport and how best can we travel to Selva.
Other than train from Munich Central Station to Bolzano, is there one from Munich airport to Chiusa, which I understand is nearest to Selva? How can I reach my hotel from Chiusa, will there be buses available or is it better for my family to travel to Bolzano, then bus to Selva.
Appreciate advice.

One alternative might be to take a train to Innsbruck, then take a dedicated shuttle service to Val Gardena.
Here is one link, but there are many winter transfer operators from Innsbruck

Thank you for helping me.
Checked. Innsbruck shuttle transfers and they operate on Friday, Sat and sunday. We'll be leaving for Selva on Tues, the end of our land tour and returning on Monday.
Is considering taxi or rail/Bolzano/bus. Notice too that DB Bahn has train to Bolzano from airport. Will check that too. Thank you for helping.

Hi
Is there a chart in English? Can't understand.
Will I be boarding at Bolzano Stz or Bolzano Aut if I come via Euro rail? How much will it cost me to travel from here to Selva?
THank you.

The Pumpkin's Festival.
by Maurizioago
At the beginning of october in piazza (square) Walter, the local florists create some nice spots with pumpkins, flowers and other things.
Besides the colorful creations this festival includes a competition. You can enter this bringing the biggest and heaviest pumpkin.
At this festival there are also various kinds of pumpkins, gadgets, books and souvenirs on sale.

Different view of Castel Mareccio
by hundwalder
Castel Mareccio is a fascinating medieval fortress. See my other tip on this well preserved castle nestled in the vino vinyards. In the distant background are the Dolomiti Mountains. Much of this ancient fortress was recently converted into a popular convention and conference center. The furnishings are beautiful and are very complmentary to the interior architecture of the castle. The castle also contains some interesting Renaissance paintings.
