Travel Tips for Ortisei

Best hut food on the mountain - Gostner Schwaige

When skiing on Alpe di Siusi we took an unmarked turn off near one of the lifts and ended in a small but cosy mountain hut on our first ski day. It was rather empty at the time and we enjoyed the warmth trying out local schnapses. Then we found out from one of the ski guides that this hat had the best food on the mountain and we decided to go back on our last day. We were in for a big surprise as the place was packed! We had very nice homemade noodles with truffles + pear and chocolate cake and some local wine and it was great! Do bear in mind that its quite pricy (Euro 46 for this pleasure).
