Travel Tips for Trento

Castello againo

by iandsmith

If you're not happy of my previous picture then here's one I prepared earlier................about a year earlier in fact. During my brief visit the previous year, curtailed due to illness, I took this snap immediately after I pulled up in the carpark.

The Palio città di Trento

by Azhut

Every year on september the town of trento organize the palio città di Trento. This palio is very nice to see, especially for the exibitions of the archers and crossbowman and the parades with medieval costums.

Torre verde (Green tower)

by Azhut

This tower was built to defend St. martin's gate, which no longer exists, and was the last bulwalk of the town walls along the banks of the River Adige before its diversion in 1858. The majority of the modifications were carried out at the time of Bishop Giorgio II Hack in the middle of 15th century. When the walls, joining the tower to Castelvecchio, were demolished the tower was isolated and lost its functional role.

Casa Cazuffi

by JLBG

I expect the next house, stuck to casa Rella, to be casa Cazzufi as it is sometimes referred to the whole as casa Rella-Cazzufi. The frescoes are in a brighter condition but I feel they are less interesting than on Casa Rella. I have made two close up pictures (photo 2 and 3)

Torre Gaudenti

by JLBG

The house "Casa Torre Gaudenti" stands at n°5, via SS Trinità, in the Borgo Nuovo district. It was first built under the name of Torre Conci in the Cinquecento (XIVth). It was then raised and adapted as a home and restructured in the XVth and XVIIIth.

The close -ups on the entrance door show the delicate carvings with amazing on one side she birds with a fishy tail and on the other side satyrs holding laurels!
