Comfort and Charm

Imagine that you are planning to spend several days in Florence. You would prefer to stay somewhere that gives you a feel for the city, and where you will feel that you are not just another anonymous tourist passing through a big hotel. If you pay attention to the numerous rave reviews of Accademia House, you will find exactly the accommodation you imagined. Accadmia House is located about ten minutes’ walk from the historical center of the city in a neighborhood of private apartments, local businesses, and small hotels. Host Marco Vitti spent a year renovating his property, uncovering beautiful brickwork and even a 15th century fresco under layers of plaster. Accademia House features attractive furnishings, well-appointed private bathrooms, extraordinarily comfortable beds, and wireless internet. Above all, it features the warmth and charm of proprietor Marco Vitti. Before we even arrived, I was impressed by how rapidly he responded to questions via email. His fluency in English was helpful for this purpose, and made for clear communication during our stay as well. We negotiated the city with a map on which Marco had written restaurant suggestions, things to see – and -- also important – a few areas to stay away from. Another “fun” feature of our stay was the breakfast arrangement: vouchers for the neighborhood café across the street, full of all kinds of people on their way to work. I would recommend Accademia House to anyone interested in staying in Florence!

Unique Quality: Unique, beautiful rooms. Wireless network easy to access. Convenient location. Host's fluent English. Air conditioning that really works!

Great B&B in Florence, Italy

Excellent location...walking distance to Duomo and all the great sites! Amazing room, we stayed in the modern room, and it had a lot of room for just 2 people. Great bathroom and even a terrace off the bedroom. Now for Marco!!! Marco the owner is wonderful, upon arriving he carried my huge bag up the flight of steps for me...THANK YOU MARCO! He gave us a map that we kept from our journey and is now referred to as the Marco map....he sits down with each guest and goes over this maps, highlights all the areas of interest for you and will even give you rest. suggestions and as in my case the best Gelato in Florence. He makes your trip an easy and enjoyable one...as far as the breakfast he gives you vouchers to use at the place right across the street, which my husband and I agree has the best hot chocolate in the world! Over all I would highly recommend Marco's place. We had a great time and we stayed out to all hours walking the streets of Florence and had the most wonderful time. I would go back here in a heartbeat!!! Thanks so much Marco, my heart belongs to the city of Florence!!!!!

Unique Quality: GREAT LOCATION!!!!!

New B&B with Theme bedrooms

Newly opened in February 2006. Only 3 rooms. Marco was so friendly, helpful and flexible. Just by visiting his website, you would know he had done up his place so beautiful and cosy. He stays there too. Each room goes along with its theme and has its own character. We liked Antiq Room so we went along with that. I would say antiq room seems spacious compared to the modern and classic ones. During our stay there in Nov, street was pretty quiet. In the morning, we were up early so that little noise was not an issue to us. Before we left, Marco said he is in the midst of installing a sound proof window and that would be perfect. The modern room has a little balcony and a longer bathroom. Good for summer stay. Lastly, all rooms are on level 2, just need to walk up a short flight of stairs.

Unique Quality: Character. Breakfast was across the street at a cafe and value for money. We were given an access key to the main door as well, so it spells freedom on our side.
