Day tour to Ferrari and/or Lamborghini Museum

by Robachu1

Is anyone aware of a tour company which offers tours from Florence?

Is it difficult to make our way to Maranello and/or Sant'Agata and the car museums from Florence by ourselves (no car)?

thanks

It has been quite a while since I was at the Ferrari place. It was not even a real museum back then. Fairly disappointing. I understand though that things have improved greatly in the last few years. There are indeed avaliable day tours. I am pretty sure that unless you join a tour, the Ferrari museum is about 10 miles south of Modena. Back in the day, you had to reserve a tour through a Ferrari dealer, and own one to boot. But like I said I ame fairly sure that things have changed quite a bit. Sorry I do not have a more updated info for you, however Motorstars has all the info you need.

Here is the website. It has access to all the the factory/museum tours which include Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Ducati and Pagani

http://motorstars.org/

Good luck and I hope it helps......d:o)

Don't know if this will help or not. We went on a coach tour from Florence using www.caftours.com They seemed to have tours going to all over the place and just might have what you want. Worth a look.

Good luck.

Have located the travel agency that does the tours for Motorstars....sort of. It is located in Maranello, and is called Maronelleviaggi. Sorry that is all I could find, but their adress is at the bottom of the Ferrari tours page.....

Travel Tips for Florence

The Baptistry

by KiNyA

The Bapristry is one of Florence's oldest buildings, dating perhaps to the 4th century.
Of course everyone knows the famous East doors of the Baptistry...
It lies at Piazza di San Giovanni, next to the greatest Sta Maria del Fiore.

meeting Dante

by margaretvn

Another great memory of Florence was meeting Dante. What a friendly charming man he was, only sorry that his books are so difficult to read. The day I met him he was standing in front of the Uffizi and Raphael was with him.

Chiantigiano

by vanessadb

If you have a car, and if you don't but can afford to rent one, take the Chiantigiano route, i.e. the route of the Chianti. It is located between Florence and Siena, and includes many villages and towns. We chose the secondary roads and only stopped in the little villages, but it depends on what you like.
The scenery is magnificent, and the wine tasting exquisite!

See travelogue for more details.

Trendy bar

by vanessadb about The Gallery Hotel

The Gallery Hotel has a very happening and trendy bar/terrace where lots of beautiful locals (models and wannabes) come to have a drink prior to dinner.
The drinks and appetizers are expensive.

It also a beautiful hotel to stay at.... Dress trendy and look gorgeous!

Trattoria Al Trebbio

by newsphotogirl about Trattoria Al Trebbio

Great restaurant located on a small side street. We ordered the spinach crepes as an appetizer and they were amazing. My husband had a chicken and rabbit dish and I ordered the lamb and artichoke. Both were excellent. The waitress was fun. She gave us shots of limoncello with our check. And she had shots with the table next to us. It was a lively restaurant with character. A lot of fun.
