I have found that Venice offers various passes for transportation, sightseeing, and even public toilets. Are similar passes available for Florence? I have search and found nothing so far.

You can walk between all the Florence museums, so public transport is hardly necessary. There isn't a museum pass as such, other than membership of the association "Friends of the Uffizzi", which gives access to all the State museums in Florence. This costs €60 if you are 26+, €40 under 26, €100 for a family of 4, see http://www.amicidegliuffizi.it/become_a_member.aspx.
Piazzale Michelangelo is the place where you can see beautiful views of the city. I had a lot of fun looking towards the city and trying to identify the places I have visited. The square has a copy of Michelangelo's David.
Florence provides you with stunning views at every turn. This is a picture I took from the cupola of the Duomo of the Campanile.
The Gothic bell tower was designed by Giotto and has stood for hundreds of years in breathtaking, multicolored marble. There's no elevator though, so if you decide to climb to the top, be prepared for 414 stairs.
DON'T ever miss the Siena.
It's very little town but it has an incredible piazza.I love it!!! The city is situated on a inactive volcano,u have to see it with ur own eyes.Hope u'll like it as much as i do.
The shops remain open till night and as i have told you that there is as such no night life which is interesting so you so go for shopping alone or with your spouse at night. Especially the shops at ponte Vecchio look really beautiful. Anything comfortable and warm.
If you're ever in Florence give Il Latini a try! There are generally two sittings per night , there doesn't seem to be a menu and the waiter just keeps bringing plate after plate of food! If you complain you cant eat any more the waiter just frowns and brings you another plate. When the bill finally comes it's a lot less than you'd expect (I think about 30euros each) They were all good and I dont know any of the names
