Despite being outside the city (5 km is relatively easy if you have a car but there was traffic at times), the location wasn't a huge problem as we were traveling with a guide. When I go to Florence on my own, I prefer to stay in the city center. But, in the middle of a whirlwind week, this was a nice break from the city.
