What impressed us most during our ten-day stay in Casa Howard in Florence was the great diversity of the rooms we stayed in compared to the dull standard rooms you get in a hotel. You get the feeling that owners took great delight in making each room its own special place giving each room its own name and certain features. Ultimately we found the place good value and relaxing, which helped us enjoy Florence even more.
Good value

We decided to get away for a long-weekend from Geneva and chose the Casa Howard in Florence. We stayed in a large room with a beautiful terrace and were given the keys to come in and out when we chose. There was free internet and Boye the housekeeper booked us two fabulous restaurants. Florence is a beautiful city to stroll around, especially in the warm evenings.
Beautiful rooms if a little small

Stayed in the red room at the Casa Howard for a long weekend in Florence. Room was beautiful with an amazing - and very ingenious sunken bath and beautiful big glass fronted shower. There was however very little room to move around the bed, in the bathroom or storage space. Quite location, easy to walk to all places of interest - bigger sign on door would be helpful.
Very impressed!

We have just returned from our stay in Casa Howard in Florence where we stayed in the Library Room. It was an absolutely beautiful room filled with books, trophies and newspaper extracts with a bathroom surrounded by mirrors which is really impressive. For € 190 per night it represented really good value.
The lady who ran the place was very kind and helped us with our luggage and questions about Florence.
Tip: On the website there is a list of restaurants and guides for the city - we went to a great restaurant called La Martinica.
High quality rooms with a good service

My partner and I stayed in the Casa Howard guesthouse in September for 4 nights. The first night we stayed in the Hidden Room which was of medium size but comfortable and quiet, and the last three nights we stayed in the Fireplace Room. This room was very large and stylish, with a central fireplace and a large bathroom with a very big bathtub in the centre.
All the people I spoke to were very kind and helpful both on the phone booking the rooms and the staff working in Florence. Our stay was relaxing and pleasant - the weather was excellent as well!
FABULOUS!!!

We have just returned from our honeymoon in Italy and stayed at both the Casa Howard locations - via Sistina in Rome and the Florence Guest House. We were most impressed with the staff and the quality of the room finishes.
In Rome, the room was small but it was a standard size by European standards. In Florence, the room was impressively large. Both locations had amazing amenities - great bathroom, great mattresses. Most importantly, there were both very centrally located. Again, I cannot stress enough how much we loved the staff working there. They were particularly helpful with local questions and made our stay very comfortable.
We will return for a repeat stay in a heartbeat!
A great place to stay

We were slightly apprehensive about staying at Casa Howard after reading some negative reviews about staff service. However once we arrived we were told that the main instigator of the problems is no longer with the company which we found a relief.
We stayed in October and were really impressed by a number of features of the house.
The room (Game Room) was very stylish and did not feel at all like we were staying in a hotel. There was a king-size bed, an attractive white marble fireplace and a balcony where we had breakfast most mornings. Cristy the house maid was always friendly and helped us by recommending places to visit and booking us Uffizi tickets in advance of our stay. We didn't see much of Cristy and her colleagues but were available when we needed help. The staff were a positive not a negative aspect as had been suggested with the old staff by previous reviewers.
Finally the location was very good, based centrally, not too far from the main attractions.
Terrible service
by TripAdvisor Member erikita
The rooms were cute and located in a quite area. The staff on the otherhand, were terrible. They would walk into our room without announcing themselves, there were also lots of bugs in the room. On check-out day, we were asked to leave by the staff coming into our room and taking our luggage out to the elevator. The staff was the worst I have ever experienced.
