I only stayed 3 days in Assisi, but I have a good memory.

When looking for a place to eat, ask for 'osteria's'.
These are local eating places which are cheaper and .. what's more: are filled with locals. They will offer more chance at interesting encounters.

Chances are, if you're traveling in Italy, the last thing on your mind is going to a soccer match. Well, if you're even a somewhat devoted reader of my pages, you'll know that I'm a half-crazed soccer fan with a tendency to watch the sport all over the world. Sure, so far I've only watched matches in Italy and the US, but more will be forthcoming.
Florence is the home of Fiorentina, and for Father's Day, I took my Dad to watch a match against Napoli on the last day of the season. Napoli won, but the other results of the day saw them relegated. All the Florentines shouted 'Serie B!' to the teary-eyed Naples fans. It's a lot of fun, and a great way to experience the finer points of Italian culture.
Check to see what is the 'in' place
by TRimer about Full Up
Check to see what is the 'in' club. When we were there it was a place called Full Up. Year after year this remains one of the trendiest clubs in town and also one of the more elegant. People dress up to come here, whether they plan to sip drinks on the velvet sofas around the piano bar or hit the smallish disco floor to groove to pop, dance, and hip-hop. It is forever changing though. Italians - especially the women- dress to kill in these places. We were dressed for the chilly weather in boots and sweaters. The women had on bra tops and mini skirts.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for Gelato !
by Espresso_girl about Various street vendors
Do not leave Florence without eating the ice cream. We found that the best tasting kinds came from street vendors who had their wears displayed in tubs in ice filled carts. Their gelato had an almost melted custardy appearance. It was the best sweet thing I had ever tasted. My favorite flavor was the pistachio. Ray’s was the Chocolate.
