Florence - Great Outdoor Museum
by SLLiew
Florence is beautiful, magnificent and awesome. The whole downtown is like an open air museum of art.
It could a ready stage set up for Romeo and Juliet. The fortress like family towers, the bridge and the sculptures all over town.
If you are a history of art fan, Florence (and Rome) should be where to spend days exploring and soaking in to get an A plus term paper.

The Italian People are the kings of the leather purse. They have a lot of banknotes and do not use frequently credit cards. For this reason, they have purses very pratical with a lot of pockets.
Try it.
Stazione Leopolda

The Stazione Leopolda is one of my favourite place in Florence. It's an old train station, built in 1848, that now hosts several events such as art and photography exhibitions, fashion shows, dance and theatre festivals, concerts .
Trains to go everywhere
by gial1
You can go from Florence to almost everywhere in tuscany and Italy with train. Florence main station is SANTA MARIA NOVELLA. Another two important stations are CAMPO DI MARTE and STATUTO. Everytime you get on the train don't forget to validate your ticket in the yellow validation machines on the tracks. If you forget you could get a fine. If the machines don't work, just write on your ticket witha pen the date and hour of your departure.
Best Dish of My Life!! Seriously!!
by Jmill42 about La Giostra
You must come here!! If you have the money that is! I was lucky enough to be invite to my friend's family-only luncheon the day before his wedding. His aunt who travels the world said this place came highly recommended by one of her traveling buddies.
I can say, unequivocally, that I had the best dish of my life here. It was amazing ravioli stuffed with Brie cheese and other herbs. I can't even begin to explain the emotion this pasta brought out in me. "Otherworldly" comes to mind. Granted, we had rented the entire restaurant and the owner / chef and his daughter were waiting on us in every way. What is good is that I got to try just about everything on the menu because the bride and groom decided they wanted a platter with a little of everything on it for the appetizers, first courses and desserts. Thankfully, the owner produced more of the pasta when everyone devoured the bit he had on the platters. Our main course was a wonderful meat of our choosing and they were large portions for Italy.
Please understand that from the moment we entered the place we started drinking champagne with a beautiful liqueur, wine, and cocktails, plus a dessert wine to boot.
Fabulous. Fabulous.
