Perfect Place to stay

This hotel is located right next to Palazzo Pitti and Florence Old Bridge (hence the name).
It's less touristy then all the other locations across the bridge. The neighborhood is wonderful and you have everything outside you need.

The rooms were clean and perfect size for our 3 nights stay.

I loved this place so much, and recommended to many people who stayed here and loved it too.

Excellent Accommodation

I found this 'Bed and Breakfast' to be excellent accommodation. The B&B is on the second floor of the building (there are both stairs and an elevator). You are a 2 minute walk from Ponte Vecchio and it only takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Duomo.

I had a room to myself (but there were two single beds in the room), overlooking a little courtyard. Rooms are air-conditioned in summer (heated in winter). The rooms were very clean and fashioned in an old Italian style, with beautiful bedside tables (with lamps), wardrobes and a large chest of drawers. There was also a T.V with many chanels (mostly Italian programs, but I did find MTV on one of them).

The bathrooms are nice, spacious with good large showers. After checking in, and receiving a warm welcome from the staff, you are given your own key to get in and out of the B&B (so you can come and go at any hour - day or night).

Prices Per Night (all with bathroom)
Single: EUR 50 - 78
Double: EUR 70 - 98
Triple: EUR 85 - 128

*When I stayed, I only payed EUR 50 per night*

Florence's places to stay

by St.Anne

Hi!
Was reading all the posted messages in VT on Florence. Amongst all the tourist places to stay namely:
Uffizi, S.Maria Novella Duomo, San Lorenzo and Santissima Annunziata, where is the BEST part to stay and relatively inexpensive?
We prefer B & B. Any suggestions anyone? Would much appreciate the help! Ciao!

Anne

Aloha Anne
Yes I've been going to Florence for the past 3 yrs. and stay at Florence Old Bridge "Wonderful Place" B&B. The staff is like family, treat them nice. I would suggest calling the prices are very good and the rooms are filled w/ antiques good sized beautiful and safe. The phone # is 011+39-055-2654262. the web page is www.florenceoldbridge.com or infor@florenceoldbridge.com. You'll love the area and it's near everything. Make sure to go to the Pitti Palace 1/2 a block from the B&B. There is also a wonderful place to eat across the street.

HI,
All the places you listed are close enough to the center. Florence in general is rather small.

The price depends on the grade of the hotel or bed and breakfast, and not only on the location.

To reduce the cost, you may want to rent an appartment, but it will probably not save you a lot of money if you are only staying for 2 nights.

In my details you can find my home page, and see my recommendations there.

Enjoy!!
