More about Giglio Bianco B&B

Giglio Bianco: perfect in every way!

by TripAdvisor Member Traveller540

Varinia & Edoardo are the perfect hosts open to all your needs. The dinners and the cooking course were simply the best. Its proximity to major attractions is great. The room is perfect and quiet. My wife and I had the best time and will come back. Overall, a perfect base from which to enjoy Florence and its beauty. A++++++++

The Best B&B in Florence!

by TripAdvisor Member ViajarEsVivir

My husband and I just returned from a 17 day trip through Italy and Greece. The Giglio Bianco was by far the most memorable and comfortable of all of our accommodations! Not only is this B&B clean and safe, it is also extremely charming. Varinia and Edoardo are the best hosts. Upon your arrival you are instantly made to feel like family. Varinia is also an AMAZING chef! Her cooking is heaven on earth. I will never forget the gourmet dinner she cooked for my husband and I. Truly the best dinner in all of Italy! We enjoyed a 4 course meal in their beautiful dining room which is extremely cozy and very romantic! We highly enjoyed staying with our new friends Varinia and Edoardo. After only 2 nights at the Giglio Bianco, it felt like home. If you want to experience Italy at its best, stay with Varinia and Edoardo at the Giglio Bianco!

A wonderful place to stay!

by TripAdvisor Member Chick28

We stayed in the Giglio Bianco for 3 nights and cannot emphasise enough how lovely this place is. It is close enough to all the local attractions so that you don't spend your time in Florence with sore feet, yet it's situated in a lovely peaceful area which overlooks the Bobolini gardens. Varinia and Edourdo are wonderful hosts, they are great sources of information, and as said many times before (but so very true) - Varinia is an amazing cook. On our last night she cooked us an amazing dinner which we ate by candlelight and took in the peaceful view from the huge dining room windows. The Giglio Bianco is exactly the sort of accomodation you wish you could find in every city you visit.

Fantastic little B&B

by TripAdvisor Member boxfather

Fantastic B&B in Edoardo and Varinia's house which is fairly close to Palazzo Pitti in Florence. It is probably around a 15 minute walk to the main tourist areas (duomo, ponte vechhio, uffizi etc.)

Really don't have much to add to what other people have said about this place, but it is all true! Varinia's cooking is fantastic. We could hardly move after eating everything she served up in stylish surroundings.

Rooms are air conditioned and comfortable with an immaculate en-suite. There was a problem with our en-suite when we arrived meaning we had to wait a few hours before using it, but we returned to find a complimentary bottle of wine in our room by way of apology which really wasn't needed but was a nice touch.

Great warm home with lovely hosts, central location

by TripAdvisor Member Shopsafari

WOW, Varginia and Eduardo are the most welcoming, warm hosts to stay with. They run a lovely decorated two bedroom B&B in a great location of Florence- perfect for getting everywhere! The room we stayed in was a good size and lovely. There was free internet access, and the hosts for a great price will cook you the most amazing 4 course dinner. They are so helpful with any problem or concern. They did our laundry, called us a cab, made our room available for us the day we left. They are the sweestest couple, and very helpful. We loved staying there and it was the highlight of our trip. We will definitely return!

Fabulous for foodies

What can we say other than our trip was made so special because we stayed at Giglio Bianco. If you want a real taste of Florence you have to stay here.I am fanatical about food and Varinia's home cooked tasting menu was truly sensational.Varinia and Eduardo are fantastic hosts. They are so helpful with local information and booked some great local restaurants for us during our stay. The rooms are very clean and spacious and it is impossible to find any faults with this b&b.If you go to Italy and you want to see the real Florence away from the big hotels stay here you will not be dissapointed!

Fantastic

by TripAdvisor Member sjjh

This is a wonderful place to stay. It's very central, less than a five minute walk from ponte vechhio. The room was very nice and the bathroom we had was superb. The highlight of our stay was the dinner we had there. Everything was prepared from organic produce, was absolutely delicious and at a good price. The pasta, crossants, jam, etc were all homemade. They really pay attention to detail and treat you so well. They are very friendly and make you feel at home. I think that about sums it up and I wish them the best of luck.

Wonderful Experience!!!

by TripAdvisor Member jbligg

My sister and I booked a room here for 4 nights in September. It was our first time in Florence and we consider this bed and breakfast our greatest find! Our hosts, Varinia and Edoardo, were fantastic, above and beyond in every way. The room was clean and charming, and the dining room beautiful. They accommodated our every request, from early breakfast to late dinner. We did a cooking class with Varinia, which was so informative and fun! We loved the cooking so much we had dinner there the next night as well. We absolutely felt more like we were staying with good friends than strangers and would stay again in a second. I highly recommend this lovely place!

Like staying with friends!

Varinia and Edoardo run a very welcoming, clean and comfortable B&B within their own home. The room had a comforatable bed, ensuite with bathrobes, satellite TV and mini fridge. Wine and water is included in the price which was a special treat. It was ideally located for walking into the city centre for all the attractions but it is also peaceful at night for a good nights sleep. If you are to sample Varinia and Edoardo's evening meal it is terrific with so many courses. You will be very full. Do try the cooking class as it is great fun and you do learn a lot.. Ask Varinia and Edoardo for recommended restuarants and places to get a cup of tea. Also ask Varinia and Edoardo to book you reservations for the galleries and museums as the queues can be quite long if you dont have a ticket.. We would certainly stay again.

Felt like family ...

by TripAdvisor Member glbtrttr

Eduardo and Varinia were great hosts, they really open up "their home" to you. B&B is only 2 rooms. Breakfast in the morning was included and great - home cooked croissants and eggs!

Good recommendations for restaurants, etc. It's very much a self-service place.

One minor annoyance - our room's window opened into a small area surrounded by other buildings, so you hear everything. We had an impromptu piano lesson happening next door until 10pm one night as we were trying to get to bed early. Not really a problem though.

A great location, removed from the center of things but a close walk to everything.

We parked about 1km away in a garage for 15Eu per day.

Wished we could have stayed for one of Varinia's home-cooked meals!
