Hi everybody,
Anybody got any tips on either of these hotels ???
on any topic like rooms, prices, surroundings, locations etc.

Hello!
When I am in Folrence I stay always in Paolo's B&B, Quatro Piano, by Mercado Centrale (4 min walk from Duomo), very nice very central and very friendly!
He charged 50-55 Euros inclu breakfast. Have a look at his web site: http://www.quartopiano.com/index.htm or call him (0039) 329 3149042 and (0039) 055 287975. He's a nice guy, remember to say hello from Dan in Corsica!
Very good meals made of fresh market ingridients to be had in Mercado Centrale!

It seems like an ok place and is certainly in a good location.

There are areas around SMN that are not can i say the best. They have cleaned up the front of the church, and is now a very nice spot. Would try to get a solid idea of where the location is, and look at some alternative places - all very walkable from the train station. we have stayed in the Oltrarno area, across the
Arno River via Ponte Carraia. Rick Steves in his book mentions hotels in and around florence, and i am sure you will get feedback from the members and their VT sites. Again, it may be that the hotel will be perfectly nice, but i would recommend as you have done reaching out.
