Piazza della Cisterna (Cistern Square), adjoining Piazza del Duomo and connected to Via S. Giovanni (St. John Street) by a singular embrasured arch, borrows its name from the original 13th century well, still adorning the middle of the square.In the above picture you can see the cistern on the left side, and a glimpse of the entrance to Via S. Giovanni through the mentioned arch, in the middle.
