Good budget hotel with parking

by sandranunes

I´ve posted the question about hiring a car online in Rome forum and I was told about the high prices for parking in Florence, what led me to recheck my hotel booking.
Anyone knows about a good budget hotel preferably off limits of ZLT with parking?
Thanks for any help, that´s for this June.

look at places like Fiesole, easier to park and cheaper then Florence.
It's closed to Florence enough to be downtown by train (1,10 €) in less then 15 minutes you're in S.M.Novella or you can take also a bus but I suggest the train.

Travel Tips for Florence

by lana82

if u decide to go to the famous uffizi gallery (which didn't impress me, probably because it is overrated) or academia where michelangelo's david is make a reservation before. if u dont u'll spend hours waiting in line. when u make a reservation u pay 1-2 euro plus but it is worth it, believe me. it can take up to 5-6 hours to get in and with reservation 15-30 minutes. if u have time check the little leonardo da vinci's museum. there aren't any paintings or sculptures, they made wooden constructions of his inventions. there u can see and try out some of inventions first hand. not a classic but defenitely fun to see. it is near the duomo, u'll see many signs pointing to it, the entrance is not as expensive as other museums.

The Doors to the Cathedral

by syllybabe

I have seen many of Italy's most beautiful Cathedrals and in my humble opinion, none of them has a facade as fascinating as Florence's Sta. Maria del Fiore. Look at the attention to detail paid to every inch of carved marble.

Piazza di Liberti-old arch

by AgentJX

A nice distraction from the busy streets of the city center the Piazza di Liberti is a good walk and features two arches, an old city arch, and a more modern arch, while these are not the most spectacular sights in Florence they are good place to stop if you are in the area.

Summer nights in Meccano

by temi about Meccano

In the summer, Meccano is open air and it is crazy, with beautiful male and female dancers.

There are several rooms which offer different types of music from house, dance and r&B no sneakers and dress cool like the Italians!!

Lovely place, full of character!

by ChartIt about Osteria Vineria i' Brincello

This was a wonderful gem for my cousin and I. There was a blend of local and savy tourists. The place is full of character. The waiters and chefs mingle, joke and even sing with the diners. We even had one of our waiters dress up like Harry Potter for about 5 minutes! The food was very good, and definatly fresh. They have cheaper items, or their set menus. So there is something for just about every budget. We tended to opt for dinner splurges and picnic lunches so the 13-18 euro set menus were no problem. The other items were cheaper, but we were in a mood to take our time and enjoy the atmosphere and Florence. They have a set menu, and they also have daily specials written on a blackboard hanging from the ceiling. It is small but it is there! I had the set menu which was wonderful. I had a big salad, a four cheese gnocchi, 1/4 liter of the house wine, 1/2 litre of water. My cousin opted for the Florentine Steak, which she enjoyed immensly.
