Get on your good shoes and go....
by snmred
Get on your good shoes and go. Florence is the most walkable city. No hills and everything that you could want to do is within a twenty minute walk. It may seem big but Florence is a small town. A friend of mine, a Florentine, once said to me. 'Don't let this town think that this is not a fine place for you, it happens for many young people that decide to go away, try until the end,Florence will pay you back. Believe this town is magic'

Horne Museum
by aliante1981
Called in Italian Museo Horne, this was once a small private collection, donated to the city of Florence by the will of Englishman Herbert Percy Horne. In a 15th-century palazzo designed by Cronaca (though at first the building was attributed to Sangallo), the collections are left, unlabeled, as Horne arranged them, which gave the sensation that I was actually viewing them in Horneýs house, as if I were invited to just spend time there (we donýt normally label items at home, do we?). The reference numbers on the handout they give you correspond to the stickers on the wall, not the numbers on the frames. Look for (though for the reasons given above that might be complicated) St. Stephen by Giotto and Sienese Mannerist Domenico Beccafumi's weirdly colored tondo of the Holy Family.Via dei Benci 6. Phone: 055-244-661. Entrance fee is 4 Euros.

Red double - decker
by fgfi
This is a quite new entry in Florence transportation. The red double deckers travel the streets of Florence since 2003. I'ts quite a touristic thing , but if you don't have too much time, or if you travel with children, is maybe something interesting to know.
Buca Niccolini
by ITALIAN_13 about Buca Niccolini
Besides one of the best pizzas in town, the cooks are a stitch. It is worth it just to meet Anna with her jet black hair and her husband, with snow white. Ricardo, who oversees the room is very nice. Pizza
