Here´s one: Libreria Café La Cité, at Limonaia da Villa Strozzi Via Limana 77, Firenze. Do not know the opening hours, but it is open for sure after 17h, that is when I have walked in while in Firenze. There´s some theater too, you might be lucky and see some acrobacies and such while on internet reading your posts, who knows. A rather unique place, good for artlovers too.

McDonalds near Santa Maria Station also offers free wifi, but you have to buy something from there to get a seat...

Travel Tips for Florence

Tiny place...................

by leics

...............no coffee, only a few computers but very pleasant chap in charge (not much English, but we managed). Near Piazza San Spirito, on Via Sant Agostino. The nice chap helped me find the @ sign, which doesn't appear on Italian keyboards (apparently). I needed identification though..........don't know if this is a general thing in Italy for public internet access, but I think you are supposed to have ID on you anyway. Whatever, this is a useful place to know about if you are away from the city centre. 30 minutes was 1 euro, which is ok.

THE CATHEDRAL AND BELL...

by SirRichard

THE CATHEDRAL AND BELL TOWER

One of my favourite buildings is the Brunelleschi´s dome, visible from anywhere and part of the magical Florence's skyline. The richly ornamental facades of the Duomo never fail to impress, and it is one of the richest examples of Gothic architecture in Italy. The adjacent bell-tower, begun by Giotto in 1334, rises to 85 metres high and a climb up its 414 steps is rewarded with some splendid views (see photo).

Watch sunset over Florence with gf or bf!

by Fritzanity

Take the bus to Fiesole. Get off the bus, walk to the street (walking away from Florence still same as you've been bussing) and turn left. Walk up hill 50 yards to little picnic area. Go under fence, walk down under olive trees in grass. Enjoy a bottle of Chianti and some bread and brie with friends or girlfriend! Most romantic spot in Florence.

A different way to look at things!

by unigirl about The Duomo at night

I really enjoyed the different perspective I got by visiting the Duomo and Baptistry at night. The crowds were still there, but it was all dark and kind of cool to see all the colours of the buildings in the dusky light!!!

Great Margherita

by vickss about Ladys Bar

Like the rest of Italy, one of the best way to have food in Italy is to get inside a bar cum ristorante. This one I found somewhere around the Duomo in one of the main shopping districts with all the big brands. By the name one may get an idea of its being a lady's only place. But it is not so. Thank God.

Its a small place atleast upfront bt i think they have a another section upstairs or something which is more the bar section. I was in the self service front end. Having decided not to touch burgers in Italy the one next option was pizza and I had this Italian dish all through.. in Rome, Venice, Florence.. This one at the Lady's bar was special.. It seemed oh so fresh like just out of the bakery.

The price was also pretty cheap.. Just about 1-2 Euro for a pretty decent slice of margherita I ate a Margherita and it was really tasty. One of the best I have had in Italy
