Perfect Hotel David

Just returned from 4 nights at the Hotel David and we can not fault it.
The Hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are very helpful. At 6.30 every evening they serve complimentry wine and aperitives, which are delightful.
One piece of advice the rooms have no curtains/drapes but they do have electrically operated shutters and you have to hunt for the switch, oh and do use the mosquito killer supplied in your room I didn't the first night and got bitten twice.
Stay at this Hotel it is wonderful.
Hotel David - a pearl in Florence

We stayed at this small boutique hotel in August 2004. which was situated along the Arno River a short walking distance to the city center. Two young men ran the hotel in an exceptionally efficient manner. They were helpful and courteous and tended to all of our needs and requests. They couldn't help us enough. The rooms were immaculate and appointed in lovely period furniture with wood floors. Breakfasts were lovely. Bathroom had a nice shower. There was a lovely garden with refreshments served in the early evening compliments of the house. It was a peaceful place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. We paid 90 euros per night. An incredible find. We would definitely stay there again. I would highly recommend this hotel for people who want a lovely sleep for a great price.
Hotel David Is A Great Find

We liked this hotel a lot. It is a vintage Italian house just outside of downtown Florence, a good walk (15 minute) or short bus ride away from the Uffizi, Duomo and other sites. It was quite reasonably priced compared with other downtown hotels, and since it it an old Florentine mansion, the rooms were very spacious and tastefully, if simply, appointed. The bathroom was large and with gorgeous Italian tile walls and floor. The staff was very attentive and helpful, with good English, and the nice breakfast was served in a beautiful second-floor room. There was also a great sitting area with comfortable chairs and sofas and a lot of reading material in both English and Italian. Finally, there is a self-serve Laundromat just down the street that was very handy after traveling for a week with our four-person family. 2 loads of laundry and 3 dryer cycles ran around 17 Euros, but that pales in comparison to what it would have cost to send out laundry from a hotel, and only took about 1-1/2 hours. We would definitely stay there again.
Lovely hotel - great staff

I booked the Hotel David after reading the reviews posted on this site. The hotel was very comfortable and the continental breakfast was plenty. It was a little far from the sites (about a 15-20 minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio), but the walk goes next to the river so it was quite lovely. There is an excellent self-service restaurant around the corner from the hotel. Ask at the front desk because the staff go there for their meals. While in the restaurant, the hotel manager actually recognized me and stayed to help me purchase what I needed. Once back in the hotel, he had dinner plates brought up to the room so we would be more comfortable.
The lounge area is very cozy with appetizers and wine set out from 6:30-7:30 (at least while we were there).

Just wondering. We have booked a reservation at Hotel David and thinking of taking a tour through Golden tours. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Hotel David is a nice hotel at the end of Viale Michelangelo, and from there you can easily walk to firenze centre, very good booking you have made! Firenze is small, and you can do all by walk, avoid this pre-paide tour and explore "my beautifull town" by your-self! If you need any help let me know!
Uffizi you can book online and avoid the kilometric queue: http://www.yourwaytoflorence.com/uffizi/ From the Hotel David, also, take your time to have lunch in the San Niccolò osteria Antica Mescita (i would reccomend a bottle of Chianti Leonard): you can walk, about 10/15 min from your hotel, just keep along the river and it's on your left side near by the garden just before Ponte Alle Grazie. http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-2783299-osteria_antica_mescita_san_niccolo_florence-i
