Tips and bolts....

If you are considering a trip to Florence and wondering where to stay - do NOT be affraid of the city size! It is pretty small, actually. Unless you REALLY don't have much time.... Even the very nice and quiet area of Fortezza da Basso is very OK. If you don't have much time (or will) to walk, there are busses line 12 and 13 right there. You use #13 to go to the city center (and further straight to Piazzale Michelangelo with stunning views of the city) and bus #12 to go back to Fortezza area.
Piazza della Cisterna (Cistern...
by Sergiuz
Piazza della Cisterna (Cistern Square), adjoining Piazza del Duomo and connected to Via S. Giovanni (St. John Street) by a singular embrasured arch, borrows its name from the original 13th century well, still adorning the middle of the square.
In the above picture you can see the cistern on the left side, and a glimpse of the entrance to Via S. Giovanni through the mentioned arch, in the middle.
Walk up the Costa di San Giorgio
by tompt
Come with us on a hike to the heights of Florence. The hike is approx. 3km from the Ponte Vecchio and back there.
From the centre of Florence you cross the Ponte Vecchio and take the second street left. Left from the church take the street uphill, the Costa di San Giorgio.
This street is not full of tourists. But it has some views over the city and leads you to the oldest gate of Florence, the Porta San Giorgio.
Gorgeous Indoor and Outdoor nightclub
by meaganelizabeth about Central Park
This nightclub is so great! We went week after week to this crazy club. Half of the pary is outdoor in a garden filled area. The decor is great and the gardens are very pretty. There is different music in every section, house, hip hop outside. This is not just a foreign club there are plenty of Italian girls and guys. They give you a card when you enter, DO NOT LOSE THIS. This is your drink card. They punch holes when you drink, and if you lose it its $60. Guess how I know! Just dress chic. Sneakers are probably ok if they are stylish.
great linguini
by manderleygirl about borgo antico
I only ate there once, but we were a large group, we ordered different things and they all looked delicious...Even so, I have to make a special reference to the wonderful linguini with fruti del mari (quite enough for two persons). A bit pricey, but i liked it.
