Decent 4star hotel
Hotel Embassy is in an old building, which was recently enirely renovated. And they did well, the hotel is very nice and elegant. It is furnitured in a classic, decent style and has marble on the floors as well as in the bathrooms. Rooms feature a flatscreen TV, a wireless internet connection, a safe, aircondition and a writing desk. Mine had a bathtub as well. And there was one of those pleasant rainforest showers! Breakfast, which was nothing special, is served in the basement. The breakfast room is nice too, with exposed brickwork and arches. The price of a double room according to their website is EUR 190, in my case my favourite booking system for hotels in Europe, www.hrs.de offered cheaper rates. The downside of the hotel is, that it is close to Santa Maria Novella train station, be aware of the fact, that - although very central- this is not the best area of Florence.
