Florence in July

by harrietholiday

Hi, I am thinking of going to stay with a friend around July 10th in Florence for a week, leaving from Toronto any suggestions for cheap flights? Sofar the norm seems around $1300-$1500 plus. Has anybody come across anything cheaper?
Thanks!

How about one of the cheap flights into the UK e.g. zoom airlines or canadian affair. Then a budget airline to Pisa.

Check out flyglobespan.ca
GlobeSpan is a budget airline that lists one way prices from the US and Canada into Europe. . .and if you're flexible, you can get a great deal! Plus, they fly out of Hamilton, ON.

Than, as was suggested earlier, find a budget carrier like RyanAir or GermanWings (or any number of others) and fly into Pisa or Florence. It can add legs to your trip, but is a great option if you're working with a budget.

In June, I'm flying from JFK to Heathrow, then Stansted to Pisa before taking a train to Florence. It made the whole trip much cheaper.
Best wishes!

Travel Tips for Florence

Soak all the wonderful art...

by Packerman

Soak all the wonderful art into yourself. There are statues, foutains, sculptures on buildings, beautiful churhes with excellent paintings and other treasures, museums, and just very interesting buildings all over the city. I have too many. Standing in front of the facade of the Duomo, staring at the michaelangelo painting of the Duomo dome interior, eating gelato and Italian ice.

CORRI LA VITA

by fgfi

Corri la vita is both a competitive race and a non-competitive walk set up every year to raise fund for the research on breast cancer causes.
During the race many private gardens and villas are open and people can enjoy visiting them.

Bycicle in Florence

by gial1

I think the best way to visit the Florence City Center is by bycicle. You can enjoy the landscape, palaces, architectures, arts, people with your bycicle. There are many bycicle streets along the river, in the avenues. Moreover the city center is forbidden to cars so if your hotel is not inside the city center you can go there renting a bycicle and enjoy your stay. If you park your bycicle somewhere lock it!!!!

A little Tuscan country

by Roadquill about Il Latini

Huge plates of pasta, soup, meats, piled high. You can feed an army. Maybe two. I bit too much for my wife and three daughters. Plus a big bottle of house chiante. I must admit that the basalmic vinegar was below par, in fact, it pretty much sucked.
