Bus from Piazza Antinori to Duomo

by alvedro

Is there a bus route from Piazza Antinori to the Duomo? I will be living in the Piazza Antinori neighborhood and going to school daily near the Duomo.

Here's the Florence bus site (in English, mostly):

http://www.ataf.net/en-US/ATAF.aspx?idC=2&LN=en-US

The journeyplanner here:

http://www.ataf.net/travelPlan/calcolapercorso.asp?idC_L=657

suggests route C1 will get you from Antinori to Santa Maria Novella station, around 10 mins walk from the Duomo itself.

Re: Bus from Piazza Antinori to Duomo

Don't understand this suggestion -- Santa Maria Novella station is in the opposite direction. Piazza Antinori itself is closer to the Duomo along via Rondinelli and via Cerretani.

Well, that's what the journeyplanner told me.

Perhaps you could check?

Remember that Florence has many pedestrianised streets in its historical centre, and many which are not bus-friendly.

I am confused.......you do mean Piazza degli Antinori, don't you?

If so, it's within easy walking distance of the Duomo...I don't think you'll need a bus.

Piazza degli Antinori is less than 500m from the Duomo.

Travel Tips for Florence

Laundry time

by l_riva_l

The time will come when you will run out of clean clothes. Sure you can let your hotel take care of it or take your laundry directly to a lavanderia or lavanderia a secco (dry cleaner) but you will find the prices very high. As an alternative for the budget conscious there are self-service locations. Your hotel can direct you to the nearest one.

One thing I can say about the full-service lavanderie, the results are much superior to what you would expect in North America.

MUSEO NAZIONALE (BARGELLO)

Behind the Palazzo Vechio is home to a fine collection of sculptures. On view here is Donatello’s David (this one started the realist movement in sculpture), works by Michelangelo and many others.

Dancing outdoors

by Jacana about Central Park

This is a one-of-a-kind night club: as many dance floors as you could possibly want, each with a different type of music. The one I enjoyed the most was the main one, which is outdoors, you dance under the trees. Amazing!
Before midnight is practicaly empty, then suddenly everyone starts coming in.
Don't miss it!

Great food and service

by kathymof about Osteria dell'Ardiglione

Very good food and excellent, friendly service. It is a place where locals seem to come to get a really good meal. Good wine menu and house wine. There was a beef (steak) filet dish that was outstanding - be careful as the menu price is not for the steak but for some type of weight measure.
