More about La Signoria di Firenze B&B
The place to be!
The hotel is perfect in many ways. Words can not do it justice. The rooms are lovely, clean, tastefully decorated and with air conditioning. The location is absolutely perfect! Situated just off the main plazza, 5 mins from the ponte vecchio, duomo, uffizzi etc. You can walk to every attraction easily. The staff are so friendly and helpful they make you feel like a friend as opposed to just a holiday maker. A wonderful experience. It was nice to leave the coldness of the larger hotel and experience the warmth and friendliness of Italian hospitality at its best. 10 out 10 easily.
lovely palce to be
Arriving in the heat of the afternoon we were mande to feel very welcome, offered cold refreshing water.... so nice. The rooms are very clean and the air conditioning fabulous. You are made to feel very welcom by everyone, more like friends than mere holiday makers. Staff are very very helpful and nothing is to much trouble. Since being home we have recommended it to so many of our freinds. Looking forward to returning.
Best B&B and Perfect Location!
We just got back from a short stay in Florence at La Signoria di Firenze B&B and cannot wait to go back! Having been to Florence before, we picked this B&B as it has an awesome location - very close to everything! Upon arrival Luciano came downstairs to help with our luggage and made us feel right at home with cold drinks. The staff was very helpful and friendly - they helped set up great activities including wine/cheese tours. The was the nicest placed we stayed at during our 10 day trip - very clean big rooms with great AC. I cannot say enough great things about this B&B!
Luciano was a gem! He was so helpful and sweet! My husband and I stayed here for 3 days and wish we would have stayed longer. It has such a cozy feeling. The decor is very nice and everything about this hotel is wonderful. I would stay here again if I ever visit Florence again. The one thing I would change about the hotel is maybe offering some fresh fruit at breakfast, other than that this hotel is wonderful.
An affordable little gem in a primo location
What an ideal base for a 4-night Florence visit for our family of 3 (incl. a 14-year-old). We sincerely appreciated the proprietors' (Luciano, Tom, and Mrs. Nesti) hospitality and service. They were truly welcoming, thoughtful, and helpful but not intrusive. Our room -- actually a 2-bedroom 'mini apartment' -- was very clean and spacious with a simple decor graced with antique oak ceiling beams, plasma tv, quick-cooling a/c, large opening windows (that cut all light and sound when shuttered), and well-stocked minibar. But best of all was the primo location on a little lane set between Piazza la Signoria and the old outdoor market. The Piazza was virtually our front yard, wonderful for evening strolls by the cafes and statues, merchants and musicians -- AND an easy walk to the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, San Croce, Piazza Republica; all the major sights. We also enjoyed the little touches such as breakfast brought to our room one morning, and Luciano's fresh cappuccinos. The owners happily stepped away from their desk to allow our computer use, but perhaps at some point they could add a dedicated computer for guests' use.
No better place to stay
There is no better place to stay in Florence then La Signoria di Firenze. My boyfriend and I just returned from Italy and we stayed here for 2 nights of our trip.
The location is perfect, you are right by the bridge which makes it extremely easy to get anywhere in 15 minutes walking or less. The shopping area is close by as is the Uffizi, 2 main piazza's, tons of restaurants and street shopping. The DOME is a 10 minute walk and the gallery where the David is located is about 15 mins walking. The bridge is 5 minutes walking.
The hotel was recently remodeled and the rooms are modern, bright, clean and comfy. The beds are huge and there's extra blankets in the big wardrobe. The breakfast in the morning is great, fresh pastries, cereals, cakes and of course Lucciano's coffee.
Lucciano and his wife are so sweet and so helpful. They helped us make museum reservations (avoiding 2 hour long waits) and also called our next hotel in Rome for us because we didn't know which location we were staying at.
The rooms are huge for a European hotel and so are the bathrooms. You are high up enough from the street that it is not loud, nor could we hear anything from the other rooms (there are only 5 so book it now).
I would stay here again and refer any of my friends here for a stay.
Location, Location, Location
This B&B is located in the heart of historic Florence. If you're planning on sightseeing and don't want to walk far, this is the place for you.
The man and woman running Signoria di Firenze are very very kind! They were very helpful and patient with my wife and me (we don't speak Italian). They offered to help us with anything. They are very good people.
The breakfast was excellent and the room was spacious and clean. Our room did however have lingering scent of body odor which was kind of distracting and unfortunate (this might have just been a from the previous guest!?).
When we first arrived, we noticed complimentary ear plugs in the bathroom. On our second night at Signoria, we figured out why. I'm not sure where exactly the noise (dance music) was coming from, but someone was having a party in or very near our building until around 3 am. Not sure if this is an everyday occurance or not, but if you are a light sleeper this might not be the right place for you.
Fantastic location, fantastic people!!
I travelled to Florence in July with my girlfriend and we had booked this b&B after seeing other good reviews. Upon arrival, and too our surprise we realised that we had book in for the night before. Not to worry though the amazing staff went out of there way to accommodate us. When we entered the room we found it to be exceptionally clean and well equipped, much better than the hotels rating and price would suggest. We stayed for 3 nights and throughout the staff were very friendly and helpful, making bookings and providing great restaurant recommendations. Will definitely go back!!
The best place to stay in Florence
We just stayed at La Signoria di Firenze, and we could not have asked for a better place. It is centrally located (literally right by Palazzo Vecchia), has spacious and updated rooms for a bed and breakfast, offers an absolutely wonderful breakfast every day, and has all the amenities we could ask for of a B&B. But what really made this place the best we stayed at in our entire trip were the innkeepers. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for entire trip, including restaurants, museum reservations, advice, and anything else. They made our honeymoon stay perfect. Thanks so very much to both of you!!
Highly recommended B&B - you will not be disappointed
A fantastic location - so central just off the main piazza and walking distance from the station. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The breakfast of cereal, cakes and pastries was lovely and the coffee delicious. The welcome was amazing - nothing was too much trouble and were were given lots of recommendations on where to eat and what to visit to maximise our short stay there. We were treated extremely well and the owners went out of their way to check train times and also set up breakfast early as we had to set off at 7am. I agree with other reviews you can hear a little music at night but it doesn't stop you sleeping. On a pracital note we were staying for a wedding and there was no iron or ironing board to press our clothes so take a travel iron. Having said that I am sure that they'll have rectified that as they are very keen to do all possible to make your stay pleasant. This is a new hotel and I am sure it will soon be fully booked all the time so book early.

Getting to the airport?
Flying out of Vespucci at 6:50 am, any suggestions to get there early in the morning?
Re: Getting to the airport?
Arrange for a taxi a couple days before. I've had no problems (thus far).
Re: Getting to the airport?
We too used a taxi because it is too early for the trains. Expect 20-25 euros from the center of Florence.
Re: Getting to the airport?
too early to be thinking too...."train" in the above should have been "bus"
Re: Getting to the airport?
Yep - taxi is the way. Either have your front desk order it the night before OR if you have 24 hour desk then go down about 20 minutes early and have them order the cab then. Either way, it will be an extra charge for calling the cab and a higher rate for so early in the morning, but the estimate of 20-25 euro is accurate.
FYI, I have take the first flight out of Florence many times and have been surprised to have the wonderful check in staff not arrive until 75 minutes before the flight leaves. Get there early so you're first in line in case this happens. There were some panicked people at the end of the long line behind me who were afraid their luggage would not make the flight because they wouldn't get checked in until 45 minutes or less before the flight leaves!!
There is a lovely cafe on the second floor to enjoy your morning pastry and coffee when you're done checking in.
Buon viaggio! LL
