Hi to everyone in the Florence forum,
We will be visiting Florence next week, and I wondered what the temperature is like in the evning, in order to know what clothes to pack.
If it is anything like here in the UK, even if it has been a sunny day, the evening's from about 8pm onwards usually become very cool and it is necessary to wear a jacket.
Is this the case in Florence?
Thanks
Katie
In my experience, temperatures in Italy (and elsewhere) do not drop as quickly when the sun goes down as they do in the UK.
A light jacket/whatever is always a good idea, but I suspect you won't find it necessary.

I would take one in case, I can remember wearing a jacket on an overcast day in Florence in June, let alone at night.
This week has not been overly warm here in Italy and the temperatures still drop quite a lot at night as the environment does not heat up so much during the day. So a jacket or a light sweater might be a very good idea.
Just returned from Florence and it was unusually HOT. I live in Florida so I am very used to being in hot weather, but was very unpleasantly surprised to find such heat in Florence. It cooled down at night only because the sun goes down, but neither my wife nor I felt need for a sweater nor jacket; and she is always cold even in Florida. "No Jacket Required"
Hi, the temperature here in Florence changes very easily, one day you could have 30 degrees at 10 pm and the day after 15 degrees!! Even if I assume it will be warmer than Uk anyway, bringing a light jacket will be a good idea anyway...you never know!

Enjoy your espresso or cappuccino at any small cafe. Stand at the counter to drink it, or pay slightly more if you want to sit and table-watch. Italians drink espresso any time of day; cappuccino is intended only for breakfast. If you request it any other time of day, they'll wonder. :)
The Palazzo Pitti wasn't in my time-allotment to visit, but I understand it to be worthwhile - it's certainly large enough to take up a half-day.
The photo shows the central section of the building - but it has wings on either side.
This is another excellent night club in town and has been around for ages. It is very popular with a mixed crowd of locals and tourists alike. They have many different theme evenings, ranging from revival, samba and punk.
The prices in Firentine restaurants are exaggerated, especially in those which are situated in the historic center of the town. I had simple dinner in one of the restaurants on Piazza della Signoria, prosciutto con melone and glass of wine, which cost me almost 20 Euros. In case you order first and second dish, plus drink and coffee, it might cost you over 30 Euros. Fortunatelly, there are small restaurants, trattorie and osterie, where the prices for food are not that exaggerated. Before entering, you should check the price list which, is situated in front of the restaurant. One of not too expensive restaurants is called Sasso di Dante where one can have lunch for approx. 20 Euros, drink included.
