Go crazy during the italian sales
by tan1415
Hi all,
In italy they have two sales periods.
Starting in January and the other starting in july/august. The january are the wintergear and in july august are of course the summer stuff.
These sales extend 3 months with each month meaning more discounts.
Of course some items lasts just a few days before they are snapped
The outlets also join these sales with even more and bigger bargains.
If you're a lover of paintings...

If you're a lover of paintings and sculptures, Firenze is THE place for you to visit. In the case you're not familiar with those issues, the side picture represents Michelangelo's 'David', in Piazza della Signoria.
PALAZZO VECCHIO
by zuriga
The Palazzo Vecchio is a bit off the beaten track but had great gardens and works of art. We saw some sculptural masterpieces from the Renaissance, including the Genius of Victory by Michelangelo and the bronze Judith and Holofernes by Donatello. Years ago, the Palazzo was the political center of Florence and the frescoes are amazing!
Santa Maria Novella Train Station
by Karahan
Trains are the most useful transportation for other cities. If you wanna go to Pisa or even to international lines, Santa Maria Novella is your station.
You can buy your tickets from offices or the machines at stations. Region tickets are valid for Toscana region. To Montecatini or Pisa it's the best to buy regional ticket.
Information office at the left side just after the entrance. There are staff who can talk multi-languages. And they're very helpful. You can get destinations, timetable or whatever for free.
If you want to come back to Florence again, better to buy one more ticket to not wait in a queue. Also check the timetable from Trenitalia's website.
Trains are comfortable but many of them not clean at all (depends on your train). Need to get some fresh air, open some of windows when you get in.
There are taxi and bus stations next to SM Novella.
Enoteca Baldovino
by HELEN about Enoteca Baldovino
Great food with reasonable prices. Of the 4 days that we were in Florence we ate at this restaurant twice. Friendly waiters and the owner was always there welcoming us in with open arms. The pizza, ravioli, and desert were my favorite.
