by Cool-123

It is the home of important museums: the Palatine Gallery, the Royal Apartments, the Silver Museum, the Modern Art Gallery, the Museum of Historical Carriages, while the smal buildings in the garden house the Contini Bonacossi Collection and the Porcelain Museum.

Il Cinghiale

here you can see a pic of this strange animal, simlar to a pig but wilder than him..lol In Firenze there is the tradition to touch his nose, they think that this touch give a lucky future! My friend Mattia (Kajron) really believes this tradition!

Leather gloves off the tourist trail

by MissThing606 about Roberta's

Roberta's has a glove shop adjacent to their leather bag shop. They leather gloves in all varieties. They have a range of sizes, designs and colours. You can also choose the type of lining you want e.g. unlined, silk or cashmere. (silk is good for most weather conditions, although cashmere is nice for really cold climates.) The staff are very helpful.

the shop is south of the Arno, so there are less crowds, although this shop seems to be gaining popularity. 20-50 euros

by Wilson

The easiest way to get to Florence is by train. The train system throughout Europe is excellent and you can get to the city from almost anyplace in Europe.
Unless you are traveling out to the wine region (Toscana Valley), you can easily walk to any location in Florence. As shown below, all the major sites are within close distance to one another.

A small trattoria outside the centre. I don´t remember the name, but there are many places like this and they are worth looking for - small family restaurants where people from the local neighborhood go and tourists just drop in by chance, but are as welcome like everybody else. Nothing fancy, but good Italian food EVERYTHING in Italian cuisine is wonderful - from antipasti to zabaione!!!
