I have been a regular customer at Soggiorno Battistero since its inception. It has been a pleasure to witness this hotel "grow" in popularity, but in features over the years. I will not stay anywhere else in Florence. As Theresa has already stated, this hotel also fits my budget (<150Euro) to a tee. The location is perfect (isn’t it always all about location, location, location). 30 seconds from the Duomo, 8 seconds to the Baptistery, 1 minute from Pizza Del Duomo, a few minutes to Ponte Vecchio... The staff is incredibly friendly and is always willing to go the extra mile to help book any of the museums or even a wine tour. Minutes from all the attractions, restaurants, museums, and the Santa Maria Novella Train Station (the serves all of Italy and beyond).
I have stayed in every room at this hotel and have never had any complaints. Book as early as possible to make sure you reserve your “Room with a View” (okay, that was of the Arno in the book/movie, I think you get my point).

This is a small and very nice bed and breakfast very close to the Duomo and the Battistero and this is why he got his name.
The best thing is the location and the view of the Piazza.
It wasn't an expensive b&b , the owner was very nice and the room we got was a very comfortable one.

This was such a great place to stay. Centrally located and so easy to find. It was clean and pleasant and had excellent views of the Duomo and Battistero. The owners were very flexible with my travel plans and very helpful with local information.

Interested to stay in a nice, comfortable little pension in this expensive city?
My well-traveled friends recently came back and raved about this pension named Soggiorno Battistero run by Kelly (an American lady) and her Italian husbund, Luca. This nice pension is located in the Piazza San Giovanni area, overlooking the main square and the Duomo. My friends were given a room overlooking the Battistero (Baptistery) and the Duomo!!
Located on the third floor of an 800 year old building (cool!). The pension only has eight rooms, with shared bath. It is located within walking distance of the train station (approx. 15 mintues), the Ufizzi, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, Accademia.

Roughly 50-60EURO a night for a single. The prices are incredible! The prices are about as good as it gets in Florence, especially with the location!!!
We hope to spend one dreamy evening in Firenze,strolling the street ,viewing the Duomo,etc. We Will be traveling to Firenze with our rented car. I am seeking to find a reasonable priced hotel with nearby parking not too far from the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio area. where we can spend one night's rest. When late we don't want to have to travel to the out-skirts of the city to sleep. Also, a good view of the Duomo would be great! Any suggestions? I would like to hear from people who actually stayed there

I do not believe you will be able to find a hotel with parking near the Duomo. It certainly will not be reasonably priced.
I just returned from there last fall. I stayed in the Soggiorno Battistero which faces the Baptistry in front of the Duomo. The accomodations were on the third floor, 67 steps to be exact. Could not have had a better view, however. Very reasonably priced. Perhaps she could suggest what to do with your car.
