I very much enjoyed eating at Trattoria ZaZa in P del mercato centrale. Not sure how much fish there will be on the menu though:it will depend on what is available.
Excellent food and very popular with locals as well as visitors, so you would be well advised to book in advance.

..... not at the hotel but to the local launderette. There are a few in Florence city center and I went to Tintoria Lavanderia which has a couple of branches in the city. I paid about 8€ for a pile of clothes I had worn for a few days and got them done in 2 hours.
While staying in San Gimignano, you'll be able to optimize your trip by making the most of the lucky location you are in. As a matter of fact, in an area of approx. 30-40 kms spreading all around you can go and visit - besides the 'mandatory' Siena :)) - other important medieval towns, such as Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, each one of them having so much in common with San Gimignano for what concerns history, culture, cuisine and winery tradition.

This town is 20 minutes outside of Florence and affords magnificent views of Florence from the hilltop. The Florence city buses will take you there.
I didn't get to make it there on my last trip to Florence but others have recommended it to me.
Me and my friends were desperately looking for a nighclub where we could dance. We asked from our Italian hostes and some local strangers who we met in the street, but they all told that there isn't a nightclub in the central. They said that there was one in downtown but is was closed just a few weeks ago. So we had to settle for a common pub.
How is this possible in a city size of Florence? Maybe there was one near by, but no one just didn't want to tell us, or all the nighclubs are outside the downtown.
I enjoyed the 13 euro lunch special of short pasta with zucchini, followed by eggplant parmesan (excellent flavors); glass of wine (pricey at 6 euros but what the heck - it was my first meal of the trip) and bottled water. 19 Euros.
