Luna Rossa Hostel Information

by cpiers47

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a weekend in Florence and am having no luck getting in contact (directly) with the Luna Rossa hostel. Perhaps someone has stayed there and still has the email address? Or a phone number?

(I've found this number: 328 6251017, but there's no answer.)

Thanks in advance!

Here's the website, with contact form (under 'booking' or 'email'):

http://www.marcosplaces.com/LunaRossa.html

but much is still under construction.

Thank you!

Do you mind sharing how you found it?

Re: Luna Rossa Hostel Information

Erm.......I googled luna rossa florence and got loads of sites (obviously they far prefer bookings via agency websites like hostelworld).

Then I tried 'luna rossa firenze' and came across something (on the google listings, not the real pages) which mentioned the website itself....think it might have been realbackpackers, can't recall.

Then I typed the web address into the address bar and lo! The relevant site appeared. :-)

You win!

Thank you so much!

No probs. :-)

I have found three different phone numbers in the Yellow Pages:
055 292304 <= yes, this is how it is written in the Yellow Pages
055 2657998
055 2675623
The first was for "Soggiorno Luna Rossa Di Margarucci Marco Affitacamere" (i.e., a place that rents rooms), and the other two were for "Soggiorno Luna Rossa - Margarucci Marco", so this sounds like your guy.

Also note on the website that leics pointed out, that under Contact, there is an email address at the bottom of the page...

Happy contacting!

"Would be even better if I could find a job which paid me for loving researching! :-)) "

AMEN!!!

You know, public libraries in the US used to have researchers on staff who would do nothing but look up stuff all day long...I guess all the fun jobs are probably gone by now :-(

Travel Tips for Florence

Wine

by Nexus7

You best try some wine when in this part of the country for its world renowned. It's cheap and it's good. Drinking wine into the night talking to people from around the world staying at our hostel with Italian music blaring in the background, well actually it was Britany Spears, but I heard she's 1/4 Italian. The wine goes down like grape juice, which is really dangerous, because you start to drink it like water. This photo is of a Tuscan vineyard's wine rack which is kept at a nice 62 degrees F.

Charming custom

by craic

Just before you get to the Ponte Vecchio you can see these padlocks with two names written on them. Lovers up to their tricks to keep their love safe and secure. No idea who started this trend but I think it may be of fairly recent origin.
On the bridge itself, there is a sign on the railing around the statue of Cellini warning that any padlocks will be removed. And that wouldn't be a good omen for your eternal love.

Reversed balcony

by fgfi

The "reversed balcony" is located in Borgo Ognissanti, 12. The building goes back to the 16th century and it seems to have been built by the owner of the house out of spite with the Duke Alessandro de' Medici. The initial project of the balcony was rejected by the Duke as, for some law of the time, it was too prominent. The owner of the building presented a second project, with little changes, and even this time it was rejected. At the third attempt, the Duke, trying to be irreverent or just fed up with the continuous requests, wrote on his response: " Yes, on the contrary". The owner of the house, expressing a true Florentine spirit and applying the answer to the letter, ordered his architect to build the balcony upside-down

hip and happening

by MissThing606 about Capocaccia

Cappocacia is one of the places where the beautiful people hang out. It's good for people watching and chatting with locals. The bar itsef if prety small, and of course no smoking is allowed so there is more atmosphere outside than in.

The cocktails are around 7 euros each. Soft drinks are about 4 euros.

the bar has a good atmosphere most nights but Sunday nights are the best. It' s gets so crowded that the DJ plays outside the bar!

Beteween 7 and 9 pm, they serve apertivi , platters of hot food as well as slices meats, cheeses, and pizza slices. Sometimes
the staff bring rounds cups of gelato, too. Smart casual attire is fine.

Pasta

by RuiPT about Always pasta

It’s amazing but the Italians eat “pasta” all days and every time they eat the pasta appears. I loved pasta and I don’t mind to eat pasta all times. In Portugal we are used to eat soup at the beginning of the meat and it’s a little strange to us so much pasta.
