Eating, drinking and dancing in Florence.... need help ;p

by STEFZAMM

We will be two girls in Florence on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday night. We will be staying in the historic centre also close to the train station.
We would like to go to some good restaurants, some nice pubs and bars and perhaps to a club in the evenings.
I found plenty of reviews but was hoping to get some reviews from someone living in Florence to suggest any of the above or perhaps someone who have been to florence and can give their suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Try Pennello's on the via Dante... good food and not too expensive. A more expensive and very good restaurant is Il Bronzini... and there's Cibreo, too.

Hi!
There aren't many many pubs and clubs in Florence, but the best area the go out at night is Via de Benci, just in front of Santa Croce Square, where there are some pubs and some disco pubs, it is a very touristy area. Pls remember: people go out at 11!

Le volpi e l'uva, slowly or la dolce vita for a drink.
Il santo bevitore and la casalinga for dinner.
Doris for clubbing!
Enjoy!

Travel Tips for Florence

David at the Vecchio Palace

by littlesam1

This is a replica of Michaelanglo's David. It stands outside of the Vecchio Palace where the original David once stood. To protect it from vandalism David was moved to Galleria della Accadamia. This replica gives you a perspective on the size of the statue. There are several replica's of David throughout Florence.

Oblate Library

by fgfi

This is a brand new library situated in the former convent of the Oblate Nuns, whose buildings were once part of the Arcispedale di Santa Maria Nuova, the city's oldest (and still functioning) hospital that was founded by Folco Portinari in 1286.
Its is open to the public and it offers music section, lounge area, cafeteria, creative writing laboratories and much more.
Unfortunately the web site is only in Italian....

Great shops

by sniem

Via Pietrapiana is a great place for shopping there are lots of small stores with clothes, shoes, houseware and lots of antiques shops. A nice place to have a drink after all the shopping is the Bar at Piazza S. Ambrogio or go around the corner and either eat cheap and good in the mercato or not so cheap but spectacular at "Il cibreo". Clothes!! Shoes, shoes, shoes!

If in tuscany area - recommend...

by sandysmith

If in tuscany area - recommend you come by train.
Parking in Florence is not worth the hassle - you'll need time to see so many amazing sights and not waste it on hunting a car park space.
The train station is conveniently located - a few minutes walk brings you to the centre - just head towards the dome!
