New youth hostel/B&B
This is quite a new hostel in Florence, not in the real city centre, but not so far.
I don't think many know it I just wanted to suggest the place in case you are not finding other place to sleep in Florence.

not like a youth hostel
I've been in quite some youth hostels, but this exceeded my expectations. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were clean and every room had one to itself, there was cold AND hot water, towels got changed daily. Wow! I don't think it was very cheap, and the downside was that it's not exactly situated in the centre of the city, so not many things to do around this place. There's no nice meeting area, so if you're on your own it's probably not the best place to meet fellow travelers.
Unique Quality: We got tickets for breakfast in a nearby pastry shop. OK, it was just one coffee and one croissant or something similar, but it was great!
