We had the most wonderful three nights here. We were greeted by Maurizio who offered us a glass of wine... Then explained that we could select our dinner choices from a list. (The half-board includes a wonderful dinner cooked the by hotel's chef, Vincenzo Marzocchi. Dinner often features local seafood. The hotel also has a licensed sommelier (Anita Negele).)
He also described a wonderful path along the bay. We took his advice and found some beautiful areas to swim.
Our room was beautiful. We had a large balcony from which we could see the sea. The room was large and comfortable.
The hotel is located very close to the beach, and to the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.
The bread served at breakfast and dinner is delicious. We spent two nights by this b&b and I can say that is a quiet place where you can relax, swimming in the nice swimmingpool or decide to walk a bit untill the center of the delicious village called Marina di Campo. The service is good and the rooms are cleaned, confortable and with almost new forniture.

A pleasant stay. We stayed in a 2-person apartment. The facilities and such were perfect. The service was great, although they didn't speak as much English as I had hoped. I would recommend this, as well as the island of Elba, to people with plenty of money and a car.
The Buca Una was located right by the clubhouse, the grounds were beautiful, and of course, the Tuscan countryside is gorgeous, and you see a lot of it right in the middle of a golf course. The local beach was nice but not that big. Me and my boyfriend had some fun walking on the rock paths that were on either side of the sandy beach.
The absolute highlight of our stay was the food. We LOVED our dinners. My boyfriend and I appreciate top quality food and this was some of the best we've ever had.
The hotel also has a very good selection of Elba wines.We had a cocktail before dinner every night.
The Ilio was a very lovely hotel and we definitely return for our honeymoon!

I stayed here for a week while kayaking with Sea Kayak italy. The couple who own the hotel are very helpful and friendly. Price is reasonable. Rooms are clean and roomy (for Italy). Hotel is located on the west end of Marciana Marina, near the embarcadero road and the harbor. Very close to the Pisan tower.
Wonderful breakfast, free wifi in the lobby. Short walk to the best swimming beach on the w. end of town. Also, provided racks on the terraces for hanging your wet clothes for after the beach, or just for laundry.

We stayed at this fantastically located 3 star hotel in May this year. Only a short drive away from the port of Portoferraio the area of Scaglieri is tucked inside the gulf of Bioddola . I have to say we were most impressed and it exceeded all our expectations , we had been a bit apprehensive in booking at first as the year before we had had quite a disappointing stay at another hotel on the island that had been highly recommended by this web site. The Danila’s main asset is it’s location you literally walk out of your door and within a few steps your on to the powdery sand of the romantic Biodola bay. The hotel itself is very charming and set in lovely terraced gardens overlooking the sea. The room we stayed in was on the small side but was more than adequate and very clean with air-conditioning, satellite TV , and daily maid service. We had a delightful little balcony overlooking the sea. Another plus was the shaded car parking for the guests. My only slight disappointment was the food although the portions were good. I would have preferred to go just B&B however like with most Italian resort hotels it’s not encouraged to do just B&B it’s nearly always as costly as doing half board I would suggest having lunch in the hotel and dinner at the wonderful restaurant right on the beach in front of the hotel ( Da Luciano) I will most definitely go to this hotel again however we were advised by the locals that the beach is extremely crowded in peak season from mid June through to August
