Travel Tips for Marina di Pisa

Marina di Pisa

quietness in person.
We went in september there and the small town of Marina di pisa was already put to sleep for the upcoming winter. Around the 12-13 sept the private ran beaches of nearby Tirrenia resort get closed, so the remaining option for laying in the sun are the open to public rocky beaches of Marina di Pisa.

Somehow it was that empty of tourists and people in general, that I cannot imagine this town full of life. Maybe it's that quiet all year round.

Relax in the sun and enjoy the peace

"Small seaside town"

Marina di Pisa is a small seaside town close to Pisa and the most obvious destination if you are staying in Florence or the surrounding area and want to see some of the Italian sea.

"Get a glimpse of Italian seaside"

We decided to go there after we finished our tour of Pisa as the day was still beautiful and it was still early afternoon. That was a great decision as Marina Di Pisa offered us what we were looking for - relaxation, sun, and the sea atmosphere. To get there we hopped on a local bus in Pisa. Ride lasted 1/2 hour and ticket was cheap.

"Beautiful Promenade along the seaside"

Not much was going on in Marina Di Pisa though. It is a seasonal place and we had hard times finding a place to eat as we were there in October and almost all restaurants were closed. Walking along the seaside promenade with hardly anyone around was very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

"Cold air and warm water"

On our last trip to Pisa we sure had to have a look at the mediterranian sea. So Marina di Pisa was the shortest way.... As all resorts on the coastline it was nearly emüty, only one local woman was taking a short bath in the warm water. Actually the water temperature wasn´t that bad, but the air had about 6 celsius or so brrrrr.

In summer it must be crowded with people from Pisa and surroundings....you will find many private beaches here as everywhere in Italy and sure the "Lido" open for the public.

"Villas and broad streets"

We also had a short look in town, buying some things for our lunch in a local supermarket. I always love foreign supermarkets. They smell different from the ones at home and it´s great to buy some local stuff.....

I liked the broad streets in this sea side town and the old villas on the sides.....actually quite lovely.....
