This magnificent hotel with sumptuous public rooms, a huge dining room, and even bigger bar with ceilings that must be 20 feet high also features a clay tennis court and a large inground pool on the premises. It has recently changed ownership and may have a different name because of that, but it typifies the upscale hotels seen all through the northern part of Montecatini. What seems like unending hotels line wide treed streets and thoroughfares, all with gardens. On our most recent visit, when we did not stay over, the first floor was under construction and the new manager was polite but firm in denying photography. Unfortunate.
