"Very potent water!"
People have been coming to Montecatini Terme to drink the very heavy mineral water for hundreds of years. This was a hot spot for celebrities like Grace Kelly and Marcello Mostriani in the 50s, but it has since declined in popularity. It is still a neat town to visit off the beaten path. And the water is very potent with heavy minerals....watch out for your stomach! Many of the elderly go early in the morning to to drink from the taps, and it is cute to see them believe they are drinking up youth. The architecture dating back to the 17th century is beautiful. If you are looking to pamper your body ther is a modern spa down the street from the historic terme buildings.
