A stupendous view

The room was spacious and welcoming. My windows opened onto the view you see on the front Pienza page here. The bathroom was large and tiled (important for me - love tile). I ate at the hotel's restaurant one night and it was wonderful. The pool was also a plus - I didn't go in, but I did sun myself for a little while after a long day of ballooning and eating at Poggio Antico.

Unique Quality: The view is worth twice the price.

Cloister Of Pienza

This beautiful **** hotel was a lovely cloister during the 15th century. It's good the hotels location was right in the centre of Pienza. I can't figure out when its location was far away, in the woods. For sure the spirit of Pope Pio II (who was responsible for the hotels build) wanders here around ...

However, the hotel includes >>>
Bar/Lounge, 24 Hour Front Desk, Restaurant, Room Service. The spacious room was comfortable, with 1 double bed, shower, hairdryer, phone, TV (Satellite), minibar, safe-box ...

Unique Quality:
The cuisine was of an exclusive, fabulous and delicious menue, the restaurant, includes a great banqueting hall, was too scenic and too much for our fashion photography! Its beauty was too overwhelming, its wide selection of famous windes, too ...

Not mentioned the spacious garden and the outdoor swimming pool. What does a fashion crew need more ???

Moon Garden & Sun Garden Add to the Ambience

by deecat about Giardino Segreta in Pienza, Italy

On April 25 and 26, 2001, Allan and I stayed at Giardino Segreta in Pienza, Italy, while on our Tuscan vacation. The place is located in the historical center of Pienza, and the owner has transformed a large 18th century family home into a wonderful place to stay. There is also a splendid enclosed garden where guests can relax in the quiet peaceful atmosphere [which we did].

The accomodation is comprised of 3 apartments and two double bedrooms, all of which look out onto the garden. We stayed in one of the double rooms. The original style and features of traditional Tuscan homes were maintained with the restoration. Our room/s [bedroom, bathroom, & sitting room] had terracotta floors, original wooden beams, and simple furniture.

The owner did not speak English; however, we communicated regardless of the language barrier. The rooms were absolutely spotless. There were many English language magazines in the sitting area as well as information about Pienza
and the surrounding area.

The bathroom was really beautiful and so modern. It had the best shower of all the places we stayed in Tuscany! We loved the location because we were able to walk everywhere. Breakfast did not come with the room, so we had a walking adventure each morning to find a spot to have fresh orange juice and some kind of roll.

The Garden was very special. It was divided into two areas:

The Moon Garden is more shady, and it is ideal for reading, resting, and meditating.

While the Sun Garden is more open to direct sunlight; it is the perfect place to sunbathe. When we would look out of our window, we saw flowering trees, huge pansies, green-green grass, and lovely lawn furniture.

This whole garden area was walled and private.
