Agriturismo Poderuccio: Agriturismo Poderuccio

We absolutely LOVED this agriturismo - it was simply perfect. I cannot even start to describe how much we enjoyed our stay here and how much we regreted to stay only one night.

It is located just outside Pienza - less than 5 minutes by car. It has amazing views over the village and the surroundings. When we arrived, the lights were fading and there was a little mist, so we didn't get to see it properly, but the next morning, with the shining sun, we could truly enjoy the fantastic scenery.

The appartments (with one or two rooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom) are small but cosy and extremely clean. I think it was recently renovated, because everything looked brand new.

We decided to have our dinner there (please check my Restaurants tip for details), and the food was superb! The owners were very friendly and made us feel at home. We even had homemade cake for breakfast :)

It truly smelled of Tuscany; I can't wait to go back and spend at least a week!

(in May 2008, we paid 90€ - such a bargain! - for half board, one night)

Unique Quality: Breathtaking views and amazing food!

Agriturismo " Poderuccio": You'll Want to Stay Longer

In the Tuscany Region of Italy, near Pienza, we stayed in a wonderful agritourism. We were pleasantly surprised to see our accommodations. There are 4 apartments inside one building, each decorated with charming local touches. We were very impressed with the cleanliness, not to mention the amazing view we had from our windows. Reasonably priced and only minutes away from some of the most incredible little towns you would ever want to visit. In an area where agritourisms are drizzled all across the country side, this is one you must visit. For us one night was not enough, we actually changed our plans a little so that we could stay an extra evening.

Unique Quality: -Owners were extremly welcoming and wonderful hosts.

-Amazing view of the Tuscan country side......amazing!

-Only two minutes from the town of Pienza, 30-40 mintues away from other wonderful towns nesteled on mountain tops....Montepulciano. Motalcino, Chiusi, and San Quirico.

-Delicious evening meals, cooked by the owner, so bring an empty stomach, because you won't want to miss a bite. We had fresh duck one evening.....and remember to ask for the homemade lemonchello. Meals run about $20.00 per person, but it is well worth the experience to stay in house for a local meal.

-The winding roads and uphill climbs make this an ideal area for cyclist from around the world.
