Street scene from Pisa
We parked in some distance from the central part of Pisa, and enjoyed our walk through the streets.
Actually Pisa was a city that appealed to me, and this city is definitely much more than the Piazza dei Miracoli.

How to go from Venice to Pisa? Bus or train cheaper?
By train it takes just over 3 1/2 hrs, changing in Florence. I don't know of a bus, and trains are usually cheaper as long as you avoid the luxury high-speed (alta velocita) trains e.g. EuroStar Italia. I would expect the cost to be around €40, if you have the time you can do it more cheaply by taking slower, regional trains with more changes (Venice-Bologna-Prato-Florence-Pisa). Ask for advice at the railway station in Venice (Santa Lucia), you don't have to book.
Italian Railways site in English: http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/homepage_en.html
www.italybus.it does not report any direct bus from Venice to Pisa, nor would I expect there to be one. Lyn is quite right to suggest the train, as it is frequent and reasonably priced.
Note that between Florence and Pisa, there are only regional trains, and between Venice and Florence, there are many (more expensive) direct trains, and the option of cheaper (by slower) regional trains with at least one connection (probably Bologna).

thank you very much for the info...this really helps me a lot because i am a student and of course on budget trip. i don't mind spending time on the train.
The trenitalia website won't always show you all possible trains between A and B, because if there are a lot of direct premium trains, it probably won't bother with the regional trains when they require a connection. Note that the button "All solutions" on the Journey page will show you some of these regional multi-train possibilities, but necessarily not all of them.
However, you can use the German rail website to look for solutions that consists of ONLY regional (i.e., the cheapest) trains. Rather than repeat it all here, please see the last tip at
http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/2ebbe/33/9/
and read it and the tips it refers to for info on how to travel most cheaply by rail in Italy...since all the rail websites in Western Europe use the same database, the difference is only in the user interface...and the fact that national rail websites give prices only for their own countries...

I just loved this view. Standing on the bridge "Ponte Solferino" and looking over the Arno river towards the mountains in the back. The buildings along the river are very nice and when the sun is shining you'll have a beautiful reflection in the water, which was not the case on my pic, as we had a cloudy day.
Visit San Gimignano,A beautiful old hill village with narrow streets and a beautiful piazza with a well in the middle, looked like a film set, but do go ethere late in the day after 4.00 when all the tour buses have gone or better still stay the night.
Getting there is easier by bus as there is no train station in San Gimignano.Nearest train station Poggibonsi. The Cathederal of Collegiata at San Gimignano, has the most fantastic frescos covering all the walls on the inside.
Fibonacci, also known as Leonardo di Pisa, was the son of a Pisan customs official. He spent much of his early life travelling around the Mediterranean where he came into frequent contact with Arab traders and merchants, and with their way of doing arithmetic. In 1202 he put his knowledge to good use and completed his Liber Abacci (Book of Calculating). It gave Europe the Arab decimal system - numbers 1 to 9 and the use of the zero - and scholars no longer had to struggle with multiplying, say, MDCXXIV by CDLXXIX. Thanks, Leonardo.
The interior is the result of the many misfortunes that the church went through and that caused the loss of most of the furnishings, including statues and paintings; it contrasts with the rich decoration on the exterior. The church has a single nave, with a trussed ceiling, painted during the 19th-century restoration; the raised presbytery is separated by two pilasters with archivolt and houses at the centre one of the greatest masterpieces of Gothic sculpture, the remarkable Madonna and Child, known to the believers as Madonna of the rose.
