ask Poda on VT! I got great insider infos and so came to taste a pisan speciality and watch a worldcup match (Italy vs. Croatia :-( ) in a bar together with locals. The weather was worse than in Germany that weekend and all i had were sandals, flip-flops, skirts, because for me Italy equals brilliant weather... nevertheless we had a wonderful time walking around, sometimes in the rain.
Campo dei Miracoli

The Field of Miracles is where the three of Pisa's most well-known buildings are located: the Duomo, Baptistry and the Leaning Tower. They are constructed of creamy marble in the Romanesque architectural style of northern Italy.
A little more to the right... a little more...!

I'm not sure how long this has been going on, but one of the very popular things to do on the Piazza dei Miracoli apparently is to have your picture taken at an angle that makes it look as though you're pushing the tower. While this may seem like a good photo opportunity, I thought it was even more funny to take a picture of said people with their hands pointlessly up in the air :o)
The Arno River...on a wet, cold night
by Tijavi
Besides the Medicis which ruled Pisa after it lost to Florence in 1406, these Tuscan cities share one more thing - the Arno river. While the Arno looks romantic in Florence, it takes on a rather uninteresting 'industrial' character in Pisa, before it empties into the Ligurian Sea. Or was it perhaps because I visited the riverbanks on a cold, wet, autumn night?
Notwithstanding this, the promenade on the Arno riverbank is a good vantage point to take snaps of Pisa and its buildings, even on a wet, cold night. One useful skill I've learned during this time was to how use one hand in taking snaps from my heavy DSLR camera while the other hand holds an umbrella!
Vittorio Emanuele II
by globetrott
The statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II is just in front of the train-station " statione Centrale " and it might help you to find your way to the leaning tower:
You simply go from the station to the statue and go always straigt on, untill you get to the river Arno.
At the river you turn to the left, untill you get to "Santa Maria della Spina" , then you pass the river by the next bridge and go straight on again - along Via Roma - in order to get directely to "Piazza dei Miracoli" and the leaning tower.
